He is a great actor but also a human brownouts wants to have life not just be an idol. It’s a stigma in Korea that actors have to be what like that who ever it might be. I root all the Korean Actors and actress who go through this system. One thing fans and critics don’t bother about is the work that goes behind the scenes. The hours they work and the sacrifices they make. Come on fans back them up. They are humans. Who are we to judge these people?

I have long been a fan of this amazing man. I have seen him grown from a quiet non verbal and shy person to becoming more confident , speaking and engaging more. he said a few years back that he wanted to explore different character rolls so that is nothing new. and I have seen by the choices over the few years that he began to make that choice for himself .. "he is being ungrateful to the industry that build him" that is not true. that industry built him to line thier pockets.so he was just a puppet like all other actors / singers etc. He has a right to say...." I don want to be a puppet any more". the life of an entertainer in china and Korea is gruelling .. and totally unnatural to a human. the guys end up being single until thier 40's so how will they be able to have a normal relationship if they have not been allowed to have any from thier 20's??? these woman and men are told what to say how to act what to wear where to go where not to go. thier life is not thier own. the pressure is enormous!! then they have to deal with fans who know noting of the life of a celebrity only know how to critisiz and find fault.. its madness. the industry do not care for the actors/singers mental health at all... only money they bring in... if they did care then ther would not be this amount of pressure to control them! I am glad that what I saw in JI Chang Wook many years ago is now coming to fruition,... I am glad that he has had the courage to speak his mind.... I have always seen him as a man who will speak the truth or keep quiet..but he wont lie... I admire him and I support him in what he said. WHY CAN HE NOT SAY WHAT HURTS HIM? HE IS HUMAN JUST LIKE US ALL WHO ADMIRE HIM.

What great comments… so true, the film industries and management agents demand too much from our actors/actresses…. Also fans…. We don’t allow these extremely talented people to have normal lives whereby they can travel, love and choose which direction they may want to go. Type casting these wonderful actors/actresses stops them from growing in their different characters in a wide range of genres. So l admire and applaud JiChangWook honesty and bring the topic to be discussed to the public openly. We have seen over the years far too many good actors/ actresses/ singers, fall to the pressures of their chosen profession. 🇬🇧fan. 6:08

Not we, because I don't want to be part of this awful fans. But you are right, in my opinion the biggest problem are the fans, the type of fan, who are basically antifans, bc if their precious actors/singers aren't behaving the way they want them to. They are ruining them in an instant. They even don't let them fall in love. So the agencies do everything to make the idols seem perfect and pressure them to behave like angels. But nobody can live like this. @@KarenRatcliffe-z5i

I have so many thoughts and comments about the Korean entertainment industry companies and the Korean fan base. None of them flattering. The actors, actresses and singers can't even be themselves. No wonder so many of them have committed suicide or left the industry because of mental health and physical health issues related to stress, anxiety and other such related things. Makes me quite sad that they are subjected this kind of scrutiny. PS: I don't normally watch or comment on gossip channels like this. The negative responses were meaningless. He was truthful about a system that dehumanized him. He is a human being, and he deserves to live his life and his career on his terms. We are all subject to the expectations of the company and system that defines our future. It will be a long battle to win our personal freedom in the context of our chosen career. That would be a positive evolution. He is talented and brave and is unselfishly joining the battle for human rights. He is a human being, courage is a decision, not a reaction.

Thankyou for sharing Ji Chang Wook. It's nice to know what's really happening when you speak your mind, rather what we see on social media. I hope you're okay though. Always supporting you with whatever the outcome or path you choose. We love you. 🥰

I am happy he speaks on these issues and i hope more will follow. Recently a kpop idol left his group because fans found out he dated before debut. They demanded for him to leave. I am thinking these people dont want their celebrities to live a normal life while they are . They literally want these celebrities to be trophies. To just sit still and look good for them. I know many other celebrities feel the same. The companies need to stop with this foolishness and allow these people to br human, to live and breathe.

Wow😮 I respect him for being open like this ! Yes , I felt there is not a great support system for the actors or seems so. I hope that his words fell on some ground for change and not to target him. 🙏 Mental health issues need more attention .❤love

He is a good human being...if they criticize him, they would regret for their whole life....every human has right to live like they want and celebritties are also humans and have a heart and mind ..we need to appreciate their heart and mind and support their decision...I love the way he evolved as an actor over the past years and i appreciate his aim at taking challenging roles and living up to them rather than routine rom coms....keep up the good job Wook, we are there to support and love you ❤️❤️

He always should speak his mind it's good that he did this because if they don't stand up for themselves it's now it's a good thing now maybe people will hear them and understand them and how they feel and things will be better for them and things will work out better I see him going with a great future he's got a good head on his shoulders he knows what he wants and he's going to get what he wants he will succeed in life God will make sure of that❤😊 and he has all of us behind him for support

Good for him speaking the truth. I have respect for him now more than ever. Hollywood is a nightmare because people were afraid to speak up about what goes on and I hope that's not the case in Korea but if it is I appreciate his honesty ❤

Honestly,... that's what made me admire someone: authenticity. Not comforming anymore to unrealistic expectations. I'm not into polished ppl and doesn't really want to know much about. But with that: i can say that I'll definitely start to follow his career paths more closely.

Ji is is a courageous and talented actor . These genuine words definitely look like him. He is right to question the industry when this latter wants to rule his life . He is an actor and needs to be challenged in many ways so that to keep growing and discovering his full potential. Singer ms are facing the same issue: industry always want to play the safe card and not take risk . But actors want to live their passion fully and getting the opportunity to play on many registers is part of fulfilling their dream. You have all my support and sympathy Dear JCW .

Chang is honest n speaks from his heart on all matters and he’s right to stand up n say what’s he’s said , everyone in the industry isn’t game to stand up n b counted , I for one know the struggles he goes through and I support him 100% in everything he’s said out loud , maybe people will start listening, how many more stars have to take there lives before someone stops and works out it’s as chang says it is

So he spoke up, way to go! People age and their looks change, attitudes change and realization sets in. Look how many actors and singer have ended their lives from the pressure. I was stalked once and it terrifying. Can you imagine that 100's of times over. Never having any personal time?! We weren't made to live under that kind of tension and pressure.
