Thank you for the video, the Sakaike Junior High School Wind Band are a very talented group. Most of the time they played very well with the richness of more experienced bands. I did find the solo singing a little strange, but recognize that getting kids of this age to stand up in front of an audience and even try to sing is a huge achievement. A lot of the tunes were unfamiliar to me, but 'Smoke on the Water' (24:20) I do know. There were some things I didn't like about this performance - the obviously mandated headbanging was silly, I wasn't sure if the Baritone Sax soloist was playing the right tune (or the right tempo?) and most of the percussion crew looked about as excited as if they were waiting for a bus. Normally I would expect this tune to be far beyond the scope of a Junior High School Band, but Sakaike proved me wrong. Overall they were fantastic! Great rendition, way better than I expected! And their subsequent tunes and soloists were great too! 👏👏👏
