我係加拿大一間好大既金融機構做嘢，大部分白人同事，呢度其實都有office politics， 只係好subtle， 要係度耐左妳就明（我十幾歲黎）， 加拿大人nice但很多人係好假既，假既意思係nice只係想表達禮貌但唔係想同妳做friend，我公司都有裁員但裁左個最多sick leave 既人，唔需要擔心自己o羊性格。做自己就得架喇

外國人因為比較 polite ，平面好似好認同，後然會自己做自己野，佢地未必會跟你認為對個套去做，佢地唔係好怕咩叫孭鑊，同香港人好唔同好怕孭鑊。

在加拿大讀書也在這裡生活的人，不好介意不同意見，覺得你有點「本土味」或「自我陶醉」。我諗會有些港人在網上見到有些較為大的加拿大公司請bilingual ,就會認為係想找人懂英文及第二什至三種語言，即係識廣東話什至大陸話有着數都可以申報。

This is such a great question. I personally struggle with this a lot. I think I am getting better at it tho. I usually just observe what my coworkers are interested in and start from there. E.g. One of my colleagues is really into cooking so I just talk about the lunch I've made and some interesting facts about Hong Kong style cooking. Hope it helps!:)

如果你係喺加拿大讀過大學/college,你就應該唔會有之前嘅擔心，我以前都喺溫哥華讀過書，上堂大家都好主動參與、表達意見/發問，完全唔會好似香港咁，所以工作文化都會唔同

我諗教育真係有好大影響，香港嘅教育top down approach 為主，上到大學我有時都會問下問題嘅，不過經過幾年喺香港職場嘅洗禮之後，我好似又彈返轉頭🥲依家要重新適應

i think the main teacher you need to have well connected is ----------------Special needs education teacher ( case manager )this teacher can be a real good supporter, or a person pointing finger to you especially your position as a ST. ( just like you did mention your mother tongue is not English ).......one real good advantage for you------------you can speak Cantonese and Mandarin......most teachers are really like having such co worker as their translator . Have a wonderful school year.... By the way I live in coquitlam as well.

Hi, friend from Coquitlam! :D Unfortunately, my school doesn't have a case manager, so basically, I have to talk to each teacher and therapist on an individual basis every day. And my anxiety just strikes through the roof every time I have to step into their classrooms to talk to them about different students and scheduling. About Cantonese, yes, I did get assigned to some Cantonese speaking clients because of that 😁, so there are essentially two sides to every coin.

woooop now more work load. i thought the special needs teacher is the case manager ( resource teacher )for all IEP arrangement. each school supposed to have at least one special needs teacher for managing all special needs students case load. Enjoy and have fun everyday.@@purpleNpineapple
