I managed software (saas) development teams in the Bay Area. There is much work to do and money to support H-1B employees. From my experience, companies pay everyone fairly. In the software industry, H-1B doesn't take away American jobs, offshoring does. I used to manage a team of engineers based in India and I made more than a team of 7 very talented and hardworking Indians, my entire team, combined. They hired me because I'm a domain expert on a US-specific system. Otherwise, my job will go offshore. Keeping companies hiring in the US should be the focus.
@@sun0903 I'm pleased to hear that you've got out of being underpaid because you need sponsorship. I know H-1B holders (MBAs) who work in small accounting firms (Chinese-owned) get unfair treatment like that. Just out of curiosity, was your employer Chinese?
