Jia "Jiamazing" Morado Rookie Year Highlights | UAAP Season 76 | Ateneo Lady Eagles

Watch Jia Morado's highlights as a rookie setter for the Ateneo Lady Eagles. Jia suffered an ACL tear just months before the tournament started. However, Coach Roger Gorayeb referred her to an ACL reconstruction expert and thankfully, with the help of Dr. Canlas, she was able to return to the courts in time.
In her rookie year, Jia Morado also called as "Jiamazing" led the Lady Eagles alongside with Alyssa Valdez to win a historic UAAP championship for Ateneo, their first one ever during the UAAP Season 76 tournament.

Yung tipong rookie palang sya pero parang professional na maglaro. Rookie year nya Nakakapag one hand set na sya. Nakikipaglaban sa net. Mautak maghulog, karamihan sa mga rookie na setter puro set pero sya rookie palang pumupuntos na. Rookie palang pero marunong ng bumasa ng defense pattern ng kalaban. Jiamazing is jiamazing ❤️

She's just a rookie but her calm demeanor when setting the ball was really unprecedented and peculiar to her. And Jia knows exactly what to do. She knows exactly what she is doing. Every set was on-point. She's really an excellent setter and considered one of the best in her generation.

The best year of ALE. 1. Best setter and libero. (Morado/Lazaro) 2. Most improved MB. (Ahomiro) 3. Super efficient player. (Morente) 4. ALYSSA VALDEZ. 5. And of course Coach Tai. Imagine if they had BDL or Maddie during that time. 🙌🙌

The best year for the ALE, arguably, was Season 77. 16-0 season. Best Setter, Best Libero, Best Scorer, Best Server, Season and Finals MVP plus 2 towering rookie Middle Blockers (BDL and Maddie) and a powerful rookie Open Hitter (Maraguinot) .

I remember watching her first game na she's too good for a rookie. Yung skill-level nya was more than of a rookie talaga and she wasn't even a blue chip recruit. Big thanks to coach roger talaga for taking her to ateneo and of course coach tai for developing her to what she is now.
