Great video with subtitles . Ancient Chinese knowledge is pure intelligence. And ur work has to be applauded for creating thing that has once been done 1000 years back . Just a quick query , what actually is a colouring agent in this formula is it lithospermia ( zi cao) or some ingredient added to oil ? Thank u

It is a very interesting video. What a unique way to make lipstick. I have got a few questions, please. At the beginning of the video, you mentioned that the jia jian recipe is from Tang dynasty. I thought in ancient time they used water based colorant dried into paper just like "Indonesian gincu" that I saw in old movies. Xianran jay chou also mentioned that women bit their lips into the paper in one of her videos probably about Mulan. Did they really have this version that is similar to modern lipstick? Second, according to video tutorials and based on a little of experience, I thought honey and wine which are water based will not mix well with oil and wax. Also, 4:20 how does only alcohol left and not water after heating it here? Did you use emulsifying wax to mix them off camera? At the end of the video, you seem to put on the lipstick on yourself. Were lipsticks in ancient China for guys too, not only for women? Thank you.

There's a book (and also a movie) titled Like Water for Chocolate that i think you, and anyone who likes these kinds of videos, will appreciate. It's written like a cookbook. Each chapter is headed by another recipe. It has much to say about cooking, the home arts, and relationships. It has a magical quality that those of you that like the writings of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and/or Cdramas with a xianxia (xinxia) flair would like. I don't know if WLC has been translated into Mandarin but it should be if it's not.

I checked and not only your lipstick does no harm, but the Zi Cao is used for skin problems! I don't use make up, but I think that you have to start an online shop. People literally poison themselves with make up.
