omg these two gave me 38 heart attacks while I was watching, I thought I won't survie T_T qin-er is like if zhang qiling and shen wei had a human baby lol I cannot. I'm just in awe.
I knew NPSS can't recommend bad things (these two and pingxie would be besties 100% lmao), but I had to put it off bc I knew I'm gonna be doomed and HOLY GUACAMOLE talk about perfect casting, perfect chemistry, perfect everything. I'm laughing how the sugar baby even got past the censorship, 2018-2020 were good times for chinese ahem "bromances" haha
jiang shuo is also like half wu xie hlaf wei wuxian lmao I can see why NPSS is into them. ahhh I'm in love with both tbh and my god red-string of fate ships are my weakness. I need help after this. I forgot the last time I was so invested I forgot to eat while watching lol
also where do we all get a therapist like this? xD

I know that many people were disappointed by the twist at the end but not me! Because that twist literally removed the female love interest and revealed that it was always about them two. And for Qin Yiheng, it started as a job assignment but then he got so close to Jiang Shuo that he was ready to lay down his life for him. Nothing was more important to him than saving Jiang Shuo, not even his own life. I mean, wow. Just... wow. That was perfect!

Fantastic edit! And count me in as another one who adored the ending, it was so perfect, and I started off loving Jiang Shuo and by the end I couldn’t believe how much Qin Er was in my heart, they’re both amazing characters :D

thank you!!!! ❤️😘 true, both of them are amazing and thank god I felt so lonely lol I was so happy at the end and then went and read that almost everyone is upset and think that it’s a sad ending. And there I was literally like “AAAA HE BROKE THE ‘PERFECT’ LIFE ILLUSION CAUSE HE COULDNT FORGET HIS BOO AND WANTED HIM” I was screaming so hard and all the opportunities pls I was so ecstatic, then read the comments and was like “oh great I’m a weirdo again” 😂🤣🤣🌚

And i am just an absolutely sucker for these like "omg the bad guy was me all along" endings because i just love that nasty twist and that horrifying realisation mwahaha. Also kinda love that in my Qin Er can be asexual, it works with his intense need to have such a strong relationship with Jiang Shuo (i like to imagine a really strong platonic love) but less keen on touching, and Jiang Shuo helping protect him from that too when all the women are getting a bit handsy. This show lends itself to a few interpretations for their relationship and I love that :D

Omg! Not this song with this bromance! So great! I'm laughing my ass off bc I just finished binge watching the show yesterday 😊 and it kicked my butt SO BAD at the end that I'm still in shock and processing and then I see this on my feed. Talk about timing 😆 thank you! ❤️

I am actually gobsmacked. I have never wanted to watch a drama more than this one since I watched your edits on Ultimate Note (btw it's still my favourite series and that's all down to you). Aaaaaaaaaaa wait wait you haven’t seen “Psych-Hunter”??? I thought you’re Chinese epic bromance connoisseur, too 😂🥰 it’s actually the author of the books about pingxie who recommended this series lol and holy shit these two are everything, I’m sure you’ll be obsessed too. they’re the red string of fate in the book and basically married by all Chinese traditions, sadly in adaptation they added non-existent woman, but I don’t even care, cause that doesn’t matter in this one, we win at the end! the casting is just top notch, the chemistry is everything, I’m sure you’ll fall in love. be careful though, as usual I found it hard to watch other stuff after that 😭 I’m glad my edit got you interested, I hope they’ll be more ppl in this fandom, bc as usual I accidentally stumbled on them on Weibo between pingxie posts, I freaking never even saw them anywhere in English speaking land 🥲 (there are like 20 fics in ao3)

@@Allyb33b33I haven’t watched much het Chinese dramas, but from those I know and zillion of their BLs stories I’m pro at (I think I’ve read all CBLs 😂) I can safely say that no one ever made as heart-wrenching epic love stories as China. Like my dudes are waiting for 10000 years for each other burning in some hell, going through some stuff no human soul can get through, my heart literally is torn to pieces each time. But that makes the ending even sweeter. At least all of my couples get the epic happy ending after the hellish tortures, that’s how I love it. My weakness is like extreme angst with an extreme happy ending 😂❤ I do cry like a dumbass in the middle, bc it’s really a high level of emotional rollercoaster no one else can reach for me 🥲

I like psychological thrillers and movies that aren't afraid to go there..I.e. not always have a happy ending or tie everything up in a pretty bow. Now I'm tempted to look for the book😊

I admit i skipped this series because i had read that they'd added women to the series to reduce the bromance but based on this edit that was not entirely successful lol adding to the list 👀 this edit is glorious, i every second of it.

I skipped for the same reason, and f*ck I regret it so bad. I can’t believe I almost missed out on these two, they have everything I adore and my desperate for Chinese bl soul was finally soothed, I was swooning this whole month, I missed this feeling 😭😭😭 I’m also mega mad they added what wasn’t even there ofc but damn in my opinion it’s a crime to skip this one bc of that. And I just think they’re way too epic and clear in the forefront that they beat everything. I don’t think anyone can deny that they’re the most romantic thing there and it’s all about the two 😂 I learned to ignore the censorship if it’s worth it and here it definitely does, plus they themselves several times said in the show that the strongest feelings are between these two, and from some moments like with “sugar baby” one and all the BL tropes included I legit at times couldn’t believe I’m watching a cdrama, I miss times when these were allowed honestly 😭 so yes yes yes so glad that I got you interested, I’m 1000000% sure you won’t regret watching it, I know we both adoooooooore this stuff ❤

oh forgot to say, qin-er though is openly gay 109%, he only has eyes for him and there are several scenes of him being extra jealous and upset about juang ship’s pseudo love interest too, I didn’t even think those were allowed in China, I was shocked. He once used his flirting technic on him that later on Jiang Shou used on the girl and he was so pissed and upset that was hilarious 😂 And oh how I wish we could go by the novel bc my god the casting for them is perfection, it’s been a while since I was so happy sorry for 2nd comment, you know when I get obsessed, I can talk forever 😂

Maybe you've watched the entire movie so I want to say that near the end he loses his memory but the person he remembers is quin-er, not doctor quin 🥲. The other personality can be sealed forever by the other personality's influence.

@@shimataki2667 I think we just interpreted the ending differently, he said he would come back for him and fix it and I trust him like no other, he wouldn’t let him get stuck there, it’s okay if jiang shuo is reset, this time he remembered him almost instantly which means he’ll remember the reality faster too. If you remember at the end “Liu Zhi” says that his plan is to get him stuck there forever, which means he hasn’t achieved it yet (and I doubt he will 😂), it’s simply the beginning of the journey in my opinion ❤️ why wouldn’t you trust qin-er to keep his word? this man doesn’t throw promises in the wind haha

@@Mrseclipse555Actually, after watching the movie, I was quite optimistic, but after delving into the chain of data (what I just said above + the part where the doctor said he or the other personality woke up based on himself), this made me constantly thinking gets worse. Thank you for clearing up a little confusion in my mind.

@@shimataki2667 well, I mean everyone watches differently, I saw ppl interpret untamed ending completely differently too, but in this case just bc as soon as he remembered qin-er, the evil alter ego said “f*ck dat biatch is too strong, I need to try harder” obviously he didn’t succeed 😂 I think he planned to get him stuck there by creating what he thought was a perfect life for him, but little did he know that our boo won’t be able to forget his boo and that ruined the plan. that’s how me and my friend understood this at least. and we were very happy 😍 but tbh I don’t even count the “guardian” ending as sad, bc I know in canon they live happily ever after together, we know by now that China doesn’t allow to show “happy” at the end on screen despite the material, so in this case I count it as a win tbh, it’s better than most endings we’ve had 🌚
