@@wyethleon Yep. People often forget not every members of Slytherin are evil, just like not every members of Griffindor are good. Snape was a pretty nice guy when you see just how much he was bullied and had to suffer at the hands of James Potter and his friends (all of whom were Griffindor and pretty messed up. I mean, they litteraly tried to kill Snape at least once with the whomping willow) Snape, who was in Slytherin, did his best to protect Harry even though he both hated and loved him because he saw both his mother and his father through him.

What people don't realize is that Slytherin and Gryffindor have a lot more in common, they are that "two sides of the same coin" sort of deals. Both want power, but Gryffindor wants it to do what they think is right while Slytherin wants it for personal reasons. You'll see a lot of people like Subaru debate between Gryffindor and Slytherin the exact way she did. It's probably why Potter could ask for "not Slytherin" and got Gryffindor.

Well, that means if you want trusty partners, Hufflepuff members are the best. At an extreme level, Gryffindor people will abandon you if you are not brave enough to follow their way. Slytherin people will betray you if you are standing in their way even when you are their friend. Ravenclaw people might betray you if your sacrifice means getting more juicy informations for science. Hufflepuff may lack any of those good qualities, but they will be your best ally no matter what. Whether when you choose to fight like a hero or run away like a coward, they will still be there for you. Also, a strong loyalty might even conquer the worst fear or achieve something that's really ambitious.
