Guys that amount of ice is normal. As someone who’s worked in the food industry for many years, everyone does this. Starbucks, Dunkin’ and other places as well. You have the choice to ask for lite ice or no ice. It’s your choice.

exactly! for the price, presentation, and cup size?! that amount of ice is completely normal. i hope none of these people go to coffee places in the US because for the price & presentation… you’re getting much less for your money than shown in these vlogs also, for lattes and basically any drink that uses espresso, the amount of liquid is fixed. the ice is used as a filler. the amount of espresso in lattes, macchiatos, americanos, etc is the same everywhere. the amount of milk will vary by the place, but the common ratio is 1:3

That is absolutely not normal please. They put that much ice on purpose just to put less drink on it, that is pathetic and they should not do this. This is litteraly 90% ice and 10% drink and you say " i worked there it is normal" stop this.

You can just request that if you order drinks. Also the reason why they put lots of ice is to make consumers not drink their beverages in one go. It's common in mixology, be it alcohol, shakes, etc. It's to make the beverage cold for long periods of time.

@@fabwolves6461 ice melts FAST, so if it's summer and you want just enjoy yourself with friends and maybe check something in yo phone you will end up with washed down PISS. For myself i use reusable plastic ice cubes it's much better and doesn't spoil drink. But i guess this places used to drink the shit in 5 minutes and then leave so probably it's not that bad.

Probably just a perception thing, since milk is added only after the ice it fills up the cup faster, but if you take out the ice the amount is just right unless you want a very concentrated drink

The coffee ratio tends to be the same at most places (for instance an iced latte usually contains a double shot of espresso), just the amount of milk varies. In places with big glasses and little ice, the coffee is usually too diluted into the milk, making it taste weak. The ice will also melt quickly, which dilutes it further. Besides, lots of ice guarantees it stays cool for much longer.

you can always ask for light ice or no ice at basically any cafe/restaurant. i don’t understand people who comment about “oh you’re mostly paying for ice”, with lots of drinks the liquids are not cold, some are even hot (with espresso or tea for example), so the ice melts extremely quickly. i wish people would understand that

A lot of asian people tend to like icy drinks because sometimes we dont like it too sweet so the ice would help balance it out, or the area we’re living in just gets really hot. We could always ask for less ice if we wanted to.
