To me, this video meant so much. I believe in seeing the best in people, and being understanding of their feelings. Besides choosing the sides between you and Jidion, I could really see that every human being has flaws, no matter how hard they try to hide it. What astounded me with this saga was how confidently transparent and real you are. You admit to your wrongdoings and keep going forward, seriously admirable and an important trait. I believe the YT "friends" you had saw this in you (along with many other traits), wanted to be surface level friends and were shocked when you explained that you have a deeper meaning to friendship. I can see Jidions side to this, but really made me sad when you called him out in the diss track and you could see his facade break. I haven’t left comments on many KZbin videos, but I felt like this “essay comment” I’ve written below me was something worth posting for ANYBODY that may actually care enough to read it. ​I don’t think many people understand where Brandon is coming from in this situation that separates him from pretty much every other creator in this “mic’d up” community I guess you would call it. Obviously everybody on the internet following all of these different creators don’t know any of what I’m about to say, but it makes this entire situation a lot more clear. This channel wasn’t Brandon’s job or even his focus until very very recently. Dude has a masters degree in arts and education and got employed fresh off of college with his, realistically at the time, “dream occupation” as an elementary school art teacher only just three years ago. He’s been a content creator his entire life (art, music, animation, sketch comedy, etc), but still extremely new to being a KZbin content creator. He saw an opportunity to pivot his career and try something he’s always wanted to do and he got this far because he took that jump. Everybody that is calling Brandon a clout chaser or saying that he’s killing his career, you guys aren’t understanding that he doesn’t need to do this shit like most KZbinrs do. Brandon is an INCREDIBLE content creator, honestly my favorite on the entire platform, and he’s slowly been climbing the ranks of this genre of content (one that I feel collaboration with other creators in the space, of ANY size, is pretty key). Brandon came into this space with low risk and high reward, because if the KZbin stuff didn’t work out he could’ve always gone back and had a regular job. Luckily the KZbin stuff worked out and now he has a platform where whenever he stops doing KZbin, he can carry part of that support base over into any other creative endeavor he takes on next. He’s hit a point in his KZbin journey where he sees how fake most of these content creators operate to scale their platform. At the end of the day that’s what being a “successful” KZbinr turns into; a job at the very least, or if you get big enough an entire business. Brandon isn’t coming at these KZbinrs as a KZbinr, he’s coming at them as a human being. I’ve had only a handful of dm interactions with Brandon, but I know he’s as genuine or as someone can get and people he considered real friends took advantage of that. It sucks seeing a content creator as rare as Brandon who I wanted to see win so badly begin to get there and it almost immediately starts destroying his mental health.
