Finally! After nearly 2 years of work, after taking long breaks to work on some other projects like my FNAF Security Breach poster and some other animations, I finally completed it. This has to be the biggest project I
did and it was so depressing as I went so long without uploading anything and there had been a period where I wasn’t feeling well.
My video was so huge that I couldn’t put everything into one animation document at once so what I did to avoid any save or export malfunctions was to make each Pencil 2D (Animation software I use) document up to 5 minutes long. Like they all say, all of us learn from experience and I most certainly did when I had to export when I got to the 9999th frame and to see that the export failed to add the sound to the mp4 video document. Also on rare ecations, whenever I tried to save the animation document, it saves in an unusual way and then later on, I find out that months worth of work of my animation frames suddenly disappear, 5 months of hard work, several entire days of doing scenes with action that is hard and long to animate had been lost in my original document! Imagine how deviating this would be going through all that hard work not just for nothing but also for stress and depression knowing that you can’t get it back in one day! Luckily, I was already well aware that something like this could happen as it happened with an image that already took me hours design back in 2017. What I did was that I kept copies of the document in my one-drive and updated them every now and then as I progressed with my work. That way if something happens with my document, I can replace it with a copy of one that contains earlier work that been destroyed on my original document. I’ll either only lose a day worth of work, or no work at all depending on how long it’d been since I’ve updated my copy. I believe this happened because of the size of the animation document. I’ll be sure to export if the file gets too big. That is a major thing that I’ve learnt from experience.
Now about the video, I had been interested in hearing the science on how seasons work. When I was 8 years old, I was told to go to bed while it was light because of the time of the year. I complained about how it not night time yet not understanding different daylight hours of the seasons at the time. It would only take me a few years later when I was about 11 to have an idea on how the seasons work. I had decided to do a similar situation on Jiffie the bratty troublemaker. What does Jiffie do about it? He summons to gods to give him powers, tears the world in half through the equator so that both hemispheres will have the same amount of sunlight as the peak winter solstice and then attracts a blizzard to immediately drop the environmental temperature. That in reality would cause massive extinctions to life that rely on the summer period to survive. It would effect ecosystems, could cause a famine to the world, effect economies as trade routes and wireless communications would be cut off due to hemispheres splitting and so many more terrible things. Jiffie had endangered the entire world all because of his hatred of the seasonal cycle.
This video turned out to be way longer then I entended it to be as I did not have a plan for the scenes. I just made up as I went. Hopfully, I won't end up getting stuck into doing animated videos like this one again so I can upload more frequently and work on some other stuff at the same time.
