Also, in all of Okarun's drawings, Momo is rendered in great detail and Jiji is barely a scribble.

Dan Da Dan is starting to be a masterclass in how to have fun with animation. You can't tell me that the story boarders didn't have a stupid grin on their faces when they realised what they could do with that entire sequence. It's so unashamedly joyful, silly, and over the top, that you can't but help laugh.

I'm not sure if Jiji is normally like that or if he's just acting up whenever he feels awkward. When he's alone with Momo he seems relatively normal, but when he's in front of strangers he just goes way over the top. Also, it was hilarious how he was flirting with that girl while in the background the teacher was saying how everyone should treat him nicely cause his parents were hospitalized.

Personally I think it's only a partial facade. Jiji IS hyper energetic and a bit of a troll (though good at heart), but he plays it up in front of Momo. Jiji knows and remembers he bullied Momo terribly. SPOILERS!!!! At one point in the manga, Jiji says he goofs off in front of Momo, because he'll get awkward if he doesn't. It's not actually spelled out, but there's plenty of evidence he likes Momo romantically. But he feels too guilty over bullying her in the past and thinks he doesn't deserve her. He's probably afraid that if he talks normally and seriously, he'd either get too awkward, or actually spill the beans to her. And given that Momo and Okarun like eachother, it'd make things even more awkward. So, he hides behind his goofy persona. Basically a onesided, secret crush.

Yeah it seems he puts on a show for others or for himself I’m not sure but he can also be just as normal too so it’s hard to say from just this one episode! And I know that classroom scene was so funny with the teacher trying to continue on as normal 😂

It's a mask, but it's a mask made in good faith to entertain others. He's basically the class clown.
