This is something I've been thinking for a while and even more so since the Butter MV was released - I think jimin's popularity has peaked and that he's had his moment in the spotlight. He's still popular and still growing but at a slower rate than a lot of other members and doesn't shine as bright as I he used to. Imo the reasons for this are For the first few years after BTS debuted Jimin was always a lot less popular then Taehyung and Jungkook, but then in 2017/2018 his popularity suddenly shot up, he was bias wrecking a lot of people, more new army were biasing him than before, he was breaking records and generally seemed to be making a big impact to the point that he was arguably the most popular member Since 2020ish, it's not that I think he's got worse as an idol. Instead I think his looks, his personality, his voice and his dancing were all people's style a couple of years ago and are less people's style now. In the same way that someone like Jennifer Lawrence had a massive peak in popularity for a couple of years and then people kinda moved on, I think jimin's popularity and likeability doesn't have the same longevity that other members do. His appeal was more of a trend than timeless, more niche than mass This could be because jimin's skill set is more matched to bts's style a couple of years ago (with black swan as the exception) than it is to the more poppy songs now. Whereas members like Jungkook, Hobi and Jin are thriving with these concepts, imo jimin fades into the background. Instead jimins strengths has always been more emotional and dramatic songs with intense chroeo like black swan, fake love and blood sweat and tears. Songs like dynamite, butter and boy with luv are great pop but dont leave that much room for emotional expression. So maybe if he was utilising his performance strengths it would be different but without it he doesn't really stand out and is frequently outshone But one of the biggest forces against jimin is the amount of negativity surrounding him. People talk about most hated idols, i know its an overdone victimising conversation. But in the long run, it's not a good thing. I don't know much about NCT but I've heard Yuta's name come up in most hated idol convos and it doesn't endear me to him. In fact if I saw an NCT performance I would probably be more scrutinising of yuta and even let confirmation bias influence my opinion. I imagine it's the same with Jimin Also, similar to how popularity is self perpetuating I think negativity is self perpetuating. I don't think this counts with the general public here, but within the kpop community I don't get the impression jimin is well liked and a lot of people seem to agree and thats made him a target rather than a victim. I think the same of jennie, I don't believe all publicity is good publicity So all in all, I think Jimin's had his moment. While a couple of years ago all you heard was jimin jimin jimin and he was a real contender for the stand out member in the group it's not the case at all now. I know these are just my observations and it's going to influenced by my social media bubble. But I genuinely believe that not only are new army less likely to choose him as a bias, I think amongst ot7 army he's fallen in popularity compared to other members and I think he's less people's bias wreckers as well. He still has a lot of people who bias him, but his gain in popularity seems to be slowing down and in general the hype around him seems a lot less than before with the trend continuing downward. If you don't agree then think about this, current jimin biases will obviously still stan him. But if you're not a jimin bias then, relative to the other members, do you like jimin as much as you used to? Say he was in your top 3 a couple of years ago, is he still there now? Or even just if you don't bias jimin where does he fall in your bias list? Cos if it's low then you probably agree with me Edit: the comments say everyone disagrees but the voting says a lot of people agree with me. Plus the comments defending him are nearly all from jimin biases so just proving my point really

V and Jk look taller most of the time because they wear Heel Support in their shoes, not Jimin. Jimin doesn't wear those heel supports because of his flat feet tendency and gets severe pain with those supports. Besides, V's face and bones are bigger than Jimin's, so he naturally looks bigger and taller on screen.
