If Stephen only had a certain number of friends and brothers he felt were close enough to justify being in the wedding, Jana’s bridesmaid number had to match. They have big families so unless you want a bridal party of 50, they have to cut it off somewhere. Am I surprised Jill wasn’t up there too? I think they invite Jill to public family events to present an image to the public of unity. @emerald6372 ай бұрын
Why is it not okay for Jill to write a book and share her story, but it is perfectly acceptable for Jinger to write a book, and make several TV appearances promoting it while sharing her story? Doesn't this seem slightly HYPOCRITICAL? Didn't all of the Duggars basically have the same Jim Bob Duggar experience, and 4-5 Duggar sisters relatively speaking have the same Josh Duggar experience? Hopefully, marriage will help to enlighten Jana on certain important realities.
@sweettea20972 ай бұрын
I think it’s perfectly okay for both to tell their personal experiences, but that has consequences in the family that didn’t agree. Jinger told her story with class and didn’t tear the family down. Jill and especially Derick seemed vindictive trying to hurt her family. These are grown adults now that aren’t under Jim Bob’s control. If you follow the grown kids they’re living independent lives.
@mollyb45412 ай бұрын
Hypocrisy and Dugger in the same sentence goes well together. JB is the root of all these issues and when Jill married he wanted to control and keep the funds all while trying to keep Jill under contract. Doesn’t work that way for Derrick and it should have never been the case for Jill and her siblings. JB was greedy. He maliciously alienated Jill all while supporting his convicted felon son. I’m glad Jill spilled the beans but I’m not surprised about her story. She was not mean spirited or malicious. Writing the book was a first step to her healing process. Also the IBLP cult he subjected his daughters to was eventually going to be exposed. The cults leader bill gothard has never been married or had children but someone he managed to convince men to “train” their wives to be subservient 🤷🏻♀️

She should have aired her grievances within the family instead of a trashy book. Eventually her book deal/interview money will run out. Even though none of us really know the whole story or the real reasons, but I was disappointed that Jill wasn't the matron of honor. Jana was the maid of honor in Jill's wedding. Jessa & Jinger were the maids of honor at each other's weddings. So it looks like Jana would have wanted Jill to be her maid of honor. It looks like Jana & Jill aren't as close as Jessa & Jinger are. But even though they are grown and live far away from each other, I'd like to see them rekindle their friendship. It should be a competition between team Jana-Jill and team Jessa-Jinger. (But to be honest, team, Jessa-Jinger already won that contest years ago.) But I would love to see Jana & Jill as close as Jessa & Jinger. I was really disappointed to know that Jessa was the matron of honor, and that Jana had moved on over to team Jessa-Jinger. But what about team Jana-Jill? Jill is beautiful and she would have made a lovely matron of honor. Plus, I felt it was her place. Regardless of all that, I am happy that Jana waited for the right person and for the right time. If she had married in her early 20's, she would have had an ugly wedding dress, no dancing at the wedding, no glamor or charm at the wedding. Her patience paid off. She deserved to be Princess Jana in a fairy tale wedding. I think, because she was older, she was bold enough to stand up for what she really wanted. But if she had married in her early 20's, she wouldn't have had the confidence to do her wedding like a princess. And I hope her marriage is just as good as the wedding, I hope her husband is a true winner, and I hope he treats her like a queen. No more hand-maid Jana, but Princess Jana instead. Move over, World, Queen Jana's coming through.

P.S. On second thoughts, Jill was probably pregnant, that's probably why she wasn't matron of honor. And Jennifer probably had a reason why she couldn't participate. And Josie's number didn't come up, that's why she wasn't chosen; Jana was probably going in chronological order and ran out of slots before she got to Josie.

Over and over again I read, “ Now Jana is free to have her own life.” Does anyone other than me think this is a ridiculous statement? Jana Duggar has always had the freedom to live her own life on her own terms as an adult. She chose to stay ; she was never a prisoner. The idea that Jana still answered to her father is the kind of spiritual corruption fostered by cults. It is not Biblical. “ When I was a child, I spoke as a child. I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man(woman), I put away childish things. “ I Corinthians 13:11

But STILL Jill and her children deserve to be a part of the family. I speak from EXPERIENCE! My Parents have both died I have 1 sibling. She has 3 kids, 2 of those have spouses and they collectively have 5 kids, for a grand total of 16. It's my hubby, our 3 young kiddos and that's IT! The other 16 get together so all kinds of things, parties for the kiddos, trips, bdays, Holidays and myself and my little family are NEVER invited. It HURTS! More than that, my CHILDREN 12,6 AND 4 DO NOT understand why they are left out and their cousins all talk about what they did TOGETHER! HOW do I explain to my children? We have done NOTHING to my family and my children sure haven't. I have asked , exclude me and hubby but not my kids. I may as well have been asking you. It hurts THEM! I have NO answer I don't understand myself. Our lifestyles are different, but that shouldn't mean my kids have to be left out. And most is in our faces. HAHA wanna hear a good one? My sibling 2 of her kids and 3 of her grands live 1 minute walk from me IN MY RENTAL HOUSES! So their kids come to my house, just we aren't invited to do anything with them. So for the sake of Jill's kids, I pray the ADULTS can actually ADULT, respect Jill and Derek's choices but don't exclude their children. And there may be 5000 Sugars but there is only ONE Jill. @@lynneparkinson8192 I don't see it as narcissistic to want to control ONE'S OWN life. The husbands may well be narcissists - and I haven't seen enough to convince me of that - but helping their wives break free of their father's control and work through their issues has been a positive thing for both themslevs and their children.

They exploited their children for financial gain and to promote their particular brand of cult. Their children did not receive anything from the TV shows and yet they were the stars. Thye grew up and realised how badly they were exploited. As for their husbands... Jill's husband is an accountant and a lawyer so he is quite able to provide. Again, what did JimBob do to "provide" ?

The Duggar parents are crap

Why put the money hungry sister Jill in the bridal party and spoil the whole event? Younger Duggar sisters don't communucate with Jill, everyone elese including Wissmanns know how Jill sued her own father. This black sheep of the family should not be in the bridal party.
