@@lisad4013 I'm not sure why people like yourself speak with so much authority on something they know very little about? It was never "most" recommending it at all. It was simply certain brands that started advertising them as "docapproved" in order to cast doubt on whether or not it was legitimately unhealthy. And back then, they didn't have laws that prevented companies from placing that on products. Stanford actually has an incredibly large collection of ads, lectures, and podcasts about advertising on this specific issue if you want to educate yourself more. Secondly, why don't you try bringing up something that wasn't from 75 years ago? Do you know how far we've come since then?

Great Podcast. Jim was a great guest

Had much more fun listening to them talk about kids and life, then the "controversial" topics. Reading Friedrich Nietzsche helped me understand better the concept of evil, but I think his teaching would be lost on Jim. Seems like these thoughts are more harmful then helpful. Imagine walking around all the time thinking the whole world is burying their heads in the sand, must be very lonely and draining. Howie is a respectful person for trying to debate Jim on some of these topics. I had a friend like Jim, who became a recluse because talking with him was so exhausting that no one could take it anymore. People who think this way can be flat out proven to be wrong and they will just start a cyclical conversation about another topic and try to convince you they are related, the mental gymnastics are sad. Also lets not forget the very important thing Howie brings up, which is people don't live on but there ideas do. I shutter to think about how people teach their children to defy logic and reason for "feelings" when they are really not applicable.
