I remember hearing an interview with Kevin Steen (Owens), saying how Low Ki refused to do the job for Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro). Cesaro is a beast & a great worker, he couldn't drop a match to him? He's a really good performer....but he's not Bruno Sammartino or Hulk Hogan clout wise to say he won't do the job for an equally talented performer. Ric Flair would put lesser performers over....so who is Low Ki not to?

The funny thing about that story is when you remember how his gimmick is strongly inspired by martial arts movies. The way that movies like Way of the Dragon and Ong Bak got the main character over with the audience, was their "fight" had them knocking the guy out with one kick to the face. Low Ki got that moment, then decided it was more important that he get the rest of his stuff in.

I like that Jim praised Low Ki, I think his passion for the business is an acquired taste but because he had a temper and size issue, it was more so out of necessity from a career standpoint that it leaked into his real life personality. This dude was wrestling for a local cable show, The Manhattan Cable Network, the AIWA, since he was like 16. I'm sure he'd be a great cruiserweight, but he just isn't big enough to be top guy. This coming from someone 5'10 180.
@curtisvance8533 жыл бұрын
People say that he isn’t big enough to be one of the top guys but then I think about Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero ect. I pretty sure he is not as big muscle wise like some of the little guys but neither was Mysterio. Also Daniel Bryant is not that big either, I’m sure he is still bigger then this guy. Point is there has been a lot of smaller guys to be main events and champion. Not saying this guy is as good as all those other guys because I haven’t seen a lot of him just a couple times here and there.

Yes Low Ki's had problems wherever he's gone, but to be fair to him, he left New Japan in 2013 because he didn't want to wrestle at a Fukushima show after WK7 due to the nuclear disaster that city had just experienced and possibly endanger his own health and safety and they just fired him because he wrestled in a suit during that match without clearing it with them even though he only did it as a protest because I believe they were gonna make him work the show anyway. It's not just him sometimes, WWE clearly never saw anything in him either
@mikes.41363 жыл бұрын
Technically, Low Ki is fantastic. He’s a great wrestler. Unfortunately, his size is an impediment, and I think that is probably more of a problem with the promotions, than with the fans. I respect his work ethic, talent, and his knowledge of the business.
@1KQ_3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's all the companies fault. Every single company he has gone through which was all of them its all their fault.
@mikes.41363 жыл бұрын
@@1KQ_ - it’s not their “fault”. It’s their prerogative. My belief is that by and large, most promotions have a “problem” with Low Ki’s presentation , not his performance, given his size. He is not perceived as marketable as a larger wrestler, with the same, or similar talent. To be clear, I recognize that Low Ki has not been accommodating to the promotions and that is his problem.
