I don’t watch anymore either, and I was the biggest pro wrestling fan back in the days. I could not imagine that there would come a day when I wasn’t rushing to watch wrestling on tv each week or go to an event at the arena. Sad state of affairs.

For all Jim harps on money, he steadfastly ignores the fact that despite the lower audience, WWE generates more revenue than the old school promoters could ever dream of. I don't like most modern wrestling either, but it's hard to argue that the WWE model isn't wildly successful from a business standpoint.

Not to mention the major disconnect: He figured out wrestling was fake as a young teenager, yet thinks that's unique....it wasn't. So the only people over that age who thought it real were mentally challenged. Why would any company cater to them, especially when the kids will spend so much more money? And the market bears that out: If there was a desirable audience for a WWE alternative, TNT, FX, AMC would be falling over each other to find it

Yeah that's retarded, Jim is correct people wanted to believe it was real. We always knew it wasn't but we wanted to believe, since the wrestlers themselves took it seriously and wanted to make you believe it was real people where able to suspend their disbelief. Now it's incredibly difficult because nobody in wrestling wants to be edgy, they Don't keep Kayfabe nobody believes anymore..
