Sable was very much a case of right place, right time. The WWF had turned away from women's wrestling after Madusa/ Alundra Blayze dropped the WWF Women's Championship in a rubbish bin on WCW Nitro, opting instead to promote sex symbols along the vein of Pamela Anderson. Before models like Torrie Wilson and Stacy Kiebler were drawn to the growing popularity of wrestling, the WWF used what they had, but whilst Sunny was a wildchild fangirl, Sable was a savvy business woman. The problem was her ego found her conveniently bullied out of the company at the peak of her popularity. She knew her place the second time around (2003-2004), but any sex appeal she had left was eclipsed by the aforementioned beautiful women, and women who were as driven to be professional wrestlers as they were sex symbols (Trish Stratus and Lita). Regardless she got the wealthy lifestyle she always wanted, and the WWF/ WWE had a lengthy run cross-promoting their female stars in Playboy magazine. Win win.
