Before he realized he could make money off of yelling, screaming and hating someone...he is most known for this feud with Russo. It's wrestling it involves showmanship...do you really think the deal with him and Russo isn't to some (maybe lots) degree a work??!
@wereallscrewed971413 күн бұрын
No I'm pretty sure he knew Russo by this time they just hadn't worked together yet. It's actually kinda Corny fault Russo got his foot in the door I believe 😂

The back and forth between Cornette and Meltzer is very interesting in a lot of ways they’re alike in how they see wrestling

Amazing! Do you also have the promos with Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies, Kevin Sullivan, J.R Benson and Ron Hed which started as the video cuts off?

Cornette is cut from the heart of wrestling itself. He’s a fan who got to work and is the embodiment of passion for a thing that you love.

Look at Corny exposing the business
@The_Bean_Daddy6 ай бұрын
For as much as I love Corny, he's always been a bit of a hypocrite. He was really on the frontier of shoot interviews. Though to be fair, these tapes were traded between maybe a few dozen, maybe hundred people, and they were people who already were smarks and knew how the business worked. He probably never believed he was making much of an impact with these types of meet and greets. Kayfabe was also pretty far dead by this point. Even one of the fans talks about getting the "don't you know it's fake?" question.

The only voice I definitely recognise is Meltzer. I'm pretty sure Brian Last and JR Benson are amongst those asking questions. Most of the attendees at Fanweek were Observer readers who just really liked SMW. It wasn't really an event for ordinary fans. It was an excuse for Corny to bring together some of his friends and fans from all over the country to see what he was doing and get them talking about what a great job he was doing. He had been a hardcore fan a decade earlier, going to the very earliest "smart" fan conventions.

@@XKenny77what is/was the significance of Brian Last? I enjoy him in Cornettes podcasts. I just don't know about him and there isn't much info online....
@XKenny7710 ай бұрын
@@LeoWhalen1933 AFAIK he was just a wrestling fan from New York who made his way to Knoxville as a teenager for SMW's Fanweek events. Cornette took a liking to him and they stayed in touch.
