I graduated from Michigan 42 years ago, and I still get misty eyed when I hear the marching band play our fight song in the middle of a game surrounded by 120,000 fans in The Big House or on the road. A perfect combination from the ashes of the 2020 season to Michigan’s first win over Ohio in 10 years, then beating them again only to suffer the disappointment of losing what appeared to be a very winnable CFP game last year. To go on this year and fight through the attempted character assassination of the program and win the CFP in its last year in present form. Steve said it, surreal. But they did it! As a die-hard Wolverine, who was schooled in Ann arbor, raised in Ann Arbor, played ball in Ann Arbor, and subsequently was in the same class as Jim Harbaugh, I can say this is probably is the class that has produced the finest crop of players collectively that have come out of one particular Michigan (or any other) program. What got Michigan the season literally send it to them, was the gradual ramp up in the quality of opposition, which happened to curiously enough coincide with the amount of anti-Michigan hate, and vitriol from the SEC conference and of course the NCAA.. What impact was this going to have on Michigan's resolve? Apparently to the chagrin of head coaches who were naysaying Michigan because they have observed or been coaches of programs that they have stepped in where coaching change had occurred or a coach with sideline due to a sanctioned action by their conference or the NCAA, and watch the wheel slowly come off because of it, that's not what happened with the Wolverines, was it? When I saw JJ McCarthy and one of the defensive players post their tweet "bet" after Harbaugh got sidelined again for another three games, right then the attitude, spirit and mindset of the team galvanized when you're United at that point you are unstoppable. That one action from the NCAA all but virtually guaranteed Michigan walking in and taking, with prejudice, the national championship title They didn't just beat washington, they broke out the good old-fashioned detroit-style backhand 💥 and pimp slapped the living daylights out of Penix and his vaunted O-Line, by the time we got to the fourth quarter - he was running for his friggin life. What a fantastic, storied season... The blessings come when you are united in and you are defending something of value. These kids were and are a blessing, they broke a curse, they restored favor, and reasserted their position and dominance. ".... Hail! to the victors valiant, Hail! to those conquering heroes" They have restored what the statistics (after the fact) cannot lie about - they are the "leaders and the best!" M Go Blue!!!!
