Bluegrass gospel doesn't get any better than this. Jim's tenor is almost supernatural. When I get to Heaven, I don't want to hear angels, I want to hear Jim McReynolds...Thank you SO MUCH for posting these priceless videos.

I'm not religious but this song connects me to you
@The-GreenHornet6 жыл бұрын
dick dewater, That's good that you are not religious. Religion can NEVER Justify you before a Just and Holy God. A person is ONLY justified by faith alone, by grace alone in the finished work of Jesus Christ on Calvary's Cross for the atonement for of your sins. If you simply trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and that he paid for all your sin COMPLETELY by shedding his blood on Calvary's Cross. By completely trusting in what he has DONE, and nothing in what you think you can do to merit salvation. You can be saved immediately at that very moment. And emotional feelings, whether you have them or not has no bearing on your salvation. Please read, Romans 10:9-13 King James Version (KJV) 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek (non jew): for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. John 1:12. (KJV) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 3:15-20. (KJV) 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved (exposed). John 3:36. (KJV) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath (judgment) of God abideth on him. Salvation is a free gift. Simply confess your sins to the Lord Jesus Christ, and with childlike faith, trust completely in him, what he did by paying for your sins on the Cross. The innocent One (Jesus Christ), died for the guilty one (You). 10 out of every 10 people die, no one escapes it. Heaven or Hell... it's your choice. Choose Christ, and spend eternity forever with the Lord of glory. Choose to reject or ignore the Lord Jesus Christ, and his gospel (good news), and spend eternity forever in Hell. Yes,... it's that simple. :)

As I recall they played in the Mackenze (northern BC) Blue grass festivals back late 80's early 90's. Then the economy soured and the end of the festivals. Those were the good ole days.

Many versions of this classic written by Ruby Moody around 1960 are available but this is my favorite. Usually Jesse sang the lead and Jim came in on the ‘Tennessee Tenor’ high harmony. I wonder why they did this one different.

On the cross and they hung Him shame was forsaken As they drove the nails in His hands and His feet As death closed his eyes His cries went to Heaven Oh Father forgive them I hear Him redeem One morning past day-break as the crowd slowly gathered Like a sheep He was humble to His Father's own will So sad was His face there the birds hushed their singing They were walking my Lord up Calvary's hill In the tomb he was laid but death could not hurt Him He was God's only son in this world below On the cross He fulfilled the plan of salvation I want to thank Jesus for His coming again One morning past day-break as the crowd slowly gathered Like a sheep He was humble to His Father's own will So sad was His face there the birds hushed their singing They were walking my Lord up Calvary's hill One morning past day-break as the crowd slowly gathered Like a sheep He was humble to His Father's own will So sad was His face there the birds hushed their singing They were walking my Lord up Calvary's hill They were walking my Lord up Calvary's hill Source: LyricFind
