"Moore's law" isn't the simple "Xnm" that almost everyone thinks. Moore stated that he noticed the relation of transistor count doubled every ~2 years *for a given price point* So it's "X nm... for X money". It doesn't matter if you can get a 5nm processor if it performs 10% better than a 3990wx but costs 15% more, Thats still the law being over. Being able to buy more processing power for more money has always been an option. Chiplets/tiles are a mere life extention to buy us time. Personally I think Wirth's law is quickly becoming a problem and needs more looking into, RISC combined with bespoke silicon is likely the next big industry change.
