Hope Jim reads this. The Kick Inside Of Me was, and still is, the song that made me want to do something with my life. So don't disrespect Side 2 of Sparkle In The Rain.

Changeling takes on another level when played really really loud, so i can see how in the discos it worked. One of my personal favourite tunes that one but then Simple Minds were my first band where i just listened to every album and tried to work it all out, the diversity of production keeps it fresh and as Jim said there - so much to learn from their catalogue, production wise especially but also musically

Peter Walsh was apparently one of the engineers at Utopia Studios where the first Spandau album was recorded (according to Discogs)

Interview of brilliant things chaps but you must do a part 2 with Charlie too. As you say so much still of interest that would appeal to even casual fans...The Mandela concerts with the Gabriel/Minds headline drama where he reportedly requested the Minds shorten their set, the Live Aid backstage where SM along with all other bands it seemed were asked to ' Move out the way, clear the area...Madonna's coming through' & Jim said 'Who the fxxx is she?' The real comeback artistically of Black n White 050505 , with Jonathan Ross's endorsement & classic quip about thinking they were all dead but the album being brilliant, wasn't it compared to Kate Bush if she were a band of guys!? Oh and the trousers ripping at a big gig...Gotta ask JK back just for that! Anyway, thank you both, great series. PS. Roger Taylor would be a superb guest, most impressive body of solo work from an artistic point of any member of any super group ito my ears.

Spandau is probably my favorite 80’s band, but Simple Minds are probably the best.
