My father passed away on Sept.11, 2012 and my mother passed away on Feb. 6, 2013. Both of them requested that this song be played at their memorial service. I can not think of a better group of people to sing this song! I know my father was waiting for my mother to hold her hand as she walked in to Heaen for the first time. This song always makes me smile and cry, but always in a good way. Thank you for posting this.

AlbertBrumley was an amazing songwriter. No disrespect to Bob Dylan, but if any English or American songwriter should awarded a Nobel prize for literature, it’s Brumley. Many of his songs really do make brilliant use of symbol, allegory and metaphor. And his images are simply unforgettable.
