“An anomaly of the music industry” Love the presentation. Jim’s work keeps me enamored year after year. And his recent string of ambient works are in heavy rotation for me. Not even to mention his work with Eiko on the WONDERFUL “Drive My Car” soundtrack. Man I adore that film and it’s music.

i really enjoyed this video, eureka is the only album of his that i've heard so far and it's great

Eureka is a classic, I love Jim O'Rourke, he's one of my favorite artists. All 6 of his albums are amazing and even his ambient/noise album I'm happy, and I'm singing, and a 1,2,3,4 is really good. Eureka is my 5th favorite but seems to be the most well known and so the one most people start with. The essential JO albums in my book are insignificance, halfway to a threeway, and bad timing.
@Dehangus6 жыл бұрын
That was a long way of saying you should get those 3 also
@domakesaythink00 Жыл бұрын
I think Insignificance is a lot better but they're both insanely good.

Some great material on the Loose Fur albums as well, so prolific hard to mention everything. Always loved O'Rourke and learned several ew things. Thanks.

didnt know you uploaded this to yt but really good video dude

You guys are in the same class huh? Wish I was in school with some jim orourke fans, most people think Insignificance is too weird. It's in my top 10, and Halfway to a threeway and Bad timing are absolute classics as well. Fucking love this mans music.

@@mysonbased Oh you know what? While I'm here I might as well tell you that there's a second Jim O'Rourke in a sense, his name is Bonnie Prince Billy he is also on drag city they've worked together. If you havent heard of him and you're actually interested let me know, I'll tell you what album's of his are good.

NYC Ghosts and Flowers actually got a ZERO from the Sonic Youth suckups at Pitchfork ? That’s closer to whiplash than backlash. I admit it’s probably my least favorite Sonic Youth album as well but I don’t hate it. I’d say a good half of that album is as strong as any of their work and where they really lose the plot is with the lyrics. Anyway imo this was a band that never released a completely worthless album and Pitchfork needs to try and control its mood swings.

good job on teaching icarly how not to sing. otherwise we'd have to worry about yet another bland modern pop icon diluting our brain cells.
