Moderator is absolutely right, Jim is truly one of the nicest people in show business. The nicest I know. It's great that big money didn't spoil him. It's clearly seen that Jim is goodhearted and kind, and people understand that. I've never seen a single negative comment about him. How could a man be so perfect?

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching this conversation with Jim. It was wonderful to have such a long time to really get to know him instead of three or four minute snippets. And, I thought I was going to cry a river of tears when he became so emotional about "The Normal Heart" and the people we lost to this dreadful disease before people finally began to listen. Kudos Mr. Parsons! And, thank you SAG for providing these wonderful conversations with some of our great actors.

This is the best interview with Jim that I have seen. Totally enjoyable, interesting and revealing. So happy to have finally gotten to know a bit of the person rather than just the characters he portrays. I was really moved to tears when the conversation turned back to The Normal Heart and Jim choked up for a minute.

What an amazing persona, both in interviews and on the screen. I could listen and watch Jim Parsons forever. Talent like "this guy" doesn't come along everyday, but let's give the guy another credit. His "hard work" has really paid off. Nothing is handed to us in this life, is it. God Bless You Jim Parsons and much continued success.

Just when I thought I couldn't love and respect Jim more but here's an interview I just bumped into after becoming a new fan of him. He is so talented and eloquent. I love how he talks a lot which is an enough proof that he loves every show, play, and projects he had. When he said he's lucky to get an agent, I want to say it's not just luck but rather pure talent that agents, like everybody else, see in him. He is an extraordinary actor who deserves to be treasured in the industry. He can make people laugh and cry at the same time. Speaking of which, I want to hug him when he started crying 😭 his character in Normal Heart really did hit him so hard that it was hard for him to explain the experience. I totally get him. Also, the lessons he shared are so worthy to be applied in life. I love Jim so much! 😢❤

Just fantastic. What a wonderful and enjoyable interview. And so interesting and informative, also. Jim is such a wonderful human being. I will now make an effort to enjoy all of his other available works. Like most, I was captured by his natural brilliance in the Big Bang Theory and am very aware of his qualities far beyond that context. Keep on going and stay true to yourself, Jim! The world will thank you!

As much as what he has already accomplished, and that is formidable, Jim Parson's greatest work is yet to appear, IMHO. He is now (2017) age 44--in his prime, for a long time, if he chooses great projects. I can see him needing an entire room for all the awards he will be getting in the future. Has such range, and is so real.

Around 23:00 he talks about getting an agent. This is after several years doing theater. Jim says he was "lucky," I beg to differ. He had the talent and perseverance to go to a showcase that few attended in LA--and that was AFTER graduate school at USD and The Old Globe, San Diego, which are great institutions, by the way. One manager came to that showcase, and Jim was connected to an agent through that. Perseverance--it takes that. I consider Jim Parsons the 2010's best TV comedic actor--every decade seems to have one standout. His description of learning, early in life, how a 22 minute comedy was made, is key to his massive success now. Brilliant artist.

Jim Parsons many of your comments from your mentors Or attitude towards your life and auditions have been helpful and insightful for myself esteem issues. “You are enough” and “what are you bringing to the party” and “someone’s success is not your failure…” these resonated with me most. I sincerely appreciate and thank you 😊

4:45 " ... come Hell or high water." That's a sort of universal phrase, but especially apropo to Houstonians. Of course, the even more apropo Houston phrase is, "God willing and the creek don't rise." Born and raised in Pasadena, TX, most of my life has been in Pasadena, TX - adjacent to Houston on the ESE side (home of the original Gilley's honky-tonk, and quite a nice place that is surrounded by the world's biggest chemical industry facilities). Jim is a national treasure. The greater Houston area is so proud to call him ours! Many thanks, Jim, for sharing your great entertainment talents with us.

Note to Parson's comments about the outrageous things that Sheldon Cooper got to say, coming from a place of honesty. It does seem that Sheldon and his cohort are so loyal and loving about one another, and so focused on their intellectual perspective, that they call out observations as they see them without the hostility of sexism or racism. I think that is the overriding importance of "allowing" this comedy to shine - it postulates a world when we can all love each other for who we are so well that it overrides negative "isms." This must be imagined before it can be real.

When Johnny Galecki tells the story of his "audition" he states that he essentially already had the role of Leonard because he knew Chuck Lorre who had worked on Roseanne with him. This seems to contradict what Jim says here. Of course sometimes directors and producers will audition many people even though they already know who they want in the role.
