One of my favorite wrestlemania matches was the triple threat match with Triple H vs Shawn Michaels vs Chris Benoit from Wrestlemania 20. The story buildup leading up to the match was incredible where you have two guys who have had a long history together wanting to end it all & then you add the royal rumble winner from the opposing roster into the mix & it gets really interesting bc now there’s two guys who are wanting to fight for the world heavyweight championship & the champion at the time (Triple H) was going to let the other two guys fight against each other for the title shot & then the managers of the roster decided to make it a triple threat match in spite of Triple H’s wishes

I think the one match of HBK’s that I remember besides the iconic ladder match is his Hell In a Cell, and not just because he got completely destroyed. It was the debut of Kane, which signalled the switch. WCW was no longer the promotion pushing new(ish) talents (in Kane’s case, it was the character). It was WWF. Guys who had never gotten over before were becoming stars. Meanwhile, except for Goldberg, it was 90% the same guys passing around the World Title.

For me, the best Wrestlemania match was Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold at WrestleMania XIII. Macho Man vs. Ricky Steamboat at WrestleMania III is up there too.

It was a great match, and JR is correct on all counts. Still saddened by not getting a healthy Sting vs. Undertaker WM match!

Hulk Hogan vs Ultimaye Warrior It was the best because they were both BELOVED and it was tough to pick sides and nobody knew who would win

I think Hogan vs The Rock WrestleMania Eighteen was one of the greatest WrestleMania matches.

If I had to choose just 1 match which I think is objectively the best WrestleMania match of all time, it'd be Rock vs Hogan, for what it represented, for how well it went for them with the live crowd and what they accomplished with the match, but Taker - Michaels 1 & 2 are certainly up there, so is Michaels - Angle.
