Who's Your Favourite Producer? In 2008, I worked on Augustana’s 2nd album, Can’t Love, Can’t Hurt. When it came time to mix, I was really happy with the rough mixes, but the question was: who could take it to the next level? We had captured great performances, so who would preserve it, and even enhance it? Jim Scott, of course! His resume is flawless, and his skills are unmatched. Over the course of a few weeks, I’d drive to his studio, PLYRZ, and we’d work on the tracks together. It was an absolute joy to collaborate with him. Now, 16 years later, I’m back at PLYRZ to hang out with Jim, talk music, and tour the studio.

The Alesis HR-16, I had a friend who owned one but had no idea how to use it, so I borrowed it from him.... 18:54 Question: What's that Line6 amp in there? I still own a POD 2.0 (rack version), because it's got it's own unique sound (love it, hate it (**** you, Glenn Fricker, haha! :P) I agree with Glenn though, but it's still a very useful device, also to put synthesizers through; etc and when one turns the amp sim off and runs it through a real amp or impulse response plugin, it actually sounds incredible still. Anyway... it does look like my POD Pro 2.0. Is it the same thing, but with valves in-built or does it have a power amp in it? :)

An answer to the comment about do people still do CDs… Absolutely! I manufacture at least 500 CDs per month in different batch sizes for various clients. One of the things I have learned is that for demos if you put five songs on a CD in a paper sleeve with the artist graphic on the disk and sell it for five bucks that shows people will suck them up. I have one artist I work with a lot that has sold over 6000 of her five dollar CDs that’s not a joke.
