No joke, one of the best documentaries I have watched was on the topic of death row meals. It's called The Last Supper from 2005. It's amazing since they interview not just American prisoner's last meals. But they also go around the world. You can find it on You Tube, that's how I found it.

I survived hanging myself with a belt, and it sounds like what happened to me, happened to Chester. I've dealt with Major Depressive Disorder and an anxiety disorder for most my life. One day I was especially depressed, got hammered drunk and took some benzos. I hid in a closet, tied the belt around the clothes hanging bar and put my head in the belt. I started applying pressure and passed out. Luckily my family had noticed that I was acting weird and had disappeared from the kitchen. My brother found me unconscious and purple and cut me down. I was seconds from dying and had neck nerve damage where I had no feeling for months. What I'm saying is I wasn't sure I was actually gonna go through with it and ended up passing out from the booze and pills. Chester was also drinking and doing who knows what else. Pretty much you can be just trying to cry out for help and accidentally go through with it. I dunno
