@@selenophile5256 its just the (to me, at least?) stereotypical quip "make like a tree" ("and leaf", is supposed to be the bit) with a twist bc they expect you to say "and leaf" but you drop the "get the fk outta here" and they go OH WELL OKAY in complete surprise bc you threw them for a loop lmao. The first "popularized" use is very much likely from a movie-- thanks to google the quote of origin is apparently from the movie back to the future (2?)? So go figure lol

Eyes closed for first few minutes: The sound work and editing superb. The psychacoustics of the footsteps when the others were told to make like a tree, how the mobster on the left(listener's left) footsteps led from left to right, as the mobster on right had established where the exit was. When the MobDoc says "Remember, do as I say... or you'll die" is inversely reassuring to our condition being critical. I will not fret. There is a mysticism and brevity, to the way your characters are written and brought to life.

That ending message about choosing what’s good for YOU really hit me. I’m looking at colleges right now I feel so stressed about choosing the right career and study course and place but this- I feel a little less shitty. It really spoke to me. My parents make me feel so much pressure to pursue something “worthwhile” and “marketable” even if I hate it, and I know it’s not intentional, but to hear from an outside perspective the message I’ve been telling myself… it really helped.
