Bushwhacking, I know it's not popular, but it's my favorite hiking. I don't canoe, and off trail hiking I learn from all your bushwhacking, thankyou. I figure bushwhacking is most closest to animal travel, they innately travel using all their senses to determine which way to go, despite the ever changing seasonal nature. (All hiking videos, I love those parts when dead ends are learned, redirection is the only way back to the "trail".) Trudging along is my favorite.

"Four packets of instant oats per day. It's how I roll, it's who I am. It's how I vibe". Gave me a chuckle knowing full well that on long trips just how tiresome the same old breakfast can be. Especially after day 25!

The many faces of the SEAL river. Some good bow splashing going on there, just as exciting as that unexpected wind a being broadsided by white caps, hopefully it puts a hurting on the bugs. looked like you got a sprain in your wrist from some hard paddling. When your tent becomes a sail and your tripods are blowing over, you might have to concede that you are wind bound. The scenery there is in yourwords surreal. Thanks for taking the time to edit and post.
@JimBairdAdventurer2 жыл бұрын
Haha, indeed those are good indicators of being windbound. Ya, that’s what happened to my wrist, I think it may have happened on the long, ice canyon rapid but I didn’t even notice it at the tile, likely because of the adrenaline. It really is an amazing river, as beautiful as any. Thanks for watching !

Exciting, on the edge of your seat moments with the wind adding to the already raging rapids. I love seeing the seal. I prefer oatmeal to start my day. It sticks with you. You could tell by just looking at those trees, what possibly happened, amazing. I see Polar Bears coming into the next video. This was the fastest 35:52. Eagerly awaiting for next video. Loved how the video ended with you & Ted sitting down eating dinner together. That rice meal looked appealing.

In your local grocery store in the lotion aisle you will find Neutrogena light sesame oil. That product alone makes an amazing mosquito repellent and yes it worked in Alaska and Canada we're technically they should be the state bird. Add to that bottle a little bit of real vanilla which noseeums hate and you're good to go on those two Critters

@@JimBairdAdventurer Looks fun for sure , you make it look easier then it probably was ! I started following your channel when you did the Kesagami solo . A few of us did the Kesagami a couple of times , years ago ( only down to the lake and then flew back out ) but it stands as my only wilderness canoeing adventures so to speak but we experienced enough for me to be able to relate to your trips and feel what your going through in each video . I like how you stop at times and reflect on where you actually are as opposed to staring and planning on maps for weeks then zooming through your trip quickly without enjoying the fact that you were actually there ...when you were there . Great job as always in all your video's !
