Jimi was a one of a kind prodigy......A dynamic creative innovator who will never be copied. Terrible how he died so young.....he had so much more to.......pure genius.......

Why do I think that only Jimi Hendrix is very famous and admired in the field of guitar playing?? I mean he is grt but he's dead, you know!!? What about other great guitar players that are living!? Jimmy Hendrix was more than just a guitar player. He was a music visionary , passionate, explorer, bold, shy and I think if was born today he would be really playing with technology a lot to make weird sounds. It would be a little wrong to call him a guitarist . He was music himself. He was living music.

Yes he was! And I really hope one day I can be like Jimi Hendrix!! He’s my idol!! Is it kind of bad for me to say that I’ll be 27 on January 16th? lol 😂

I have to get this off my chest, and if any one in the movie industry sees this, WHY has there NOT been a Movie made to honor this man yet? The Doors,Janis Joplin, Elvis,....have had movies made to honor them. Jimi Hendrix made a TREMENDOUS Contribution to music (electric lady studios among others),and is still being imitated musically today. Where is his Movie????

Personally, I liked Jimi's voice. Even though he slurred his diction, the voice quality it's self was pretty good. I think a voice coach could have taken him up a level or two.

@hansecheverria Very true. There are only a few bands I will listen that got started in 1999 to about 2001. The rest of good music was made in the 40's-90's. I think that artists now care more about an image, money, drugs, women, cars and how many mansions they own. It is sickening to me.

I have a customer that says he is Hendrix cousin and the Nona Hyndrex(patty Labelle) is his aunt so Jimi and nona are cousins. And i thought he said all of them were Born around Savana georga. So i researched and some articles say that Nona changed her name to use a y but they are indeed cousins. a few said they were not. And most articles say Jimi was born in Seattle, but this person says all of his family from Georga. The thing is Jimi made a record where he sang "I was Born in Georga 27 years ago today

From what i know, he overdosed on sleeping pills, which in the region of europe he was, were about 3 or four times stronger thatn regular pills, and he took nine, wich in regular pills would have been fine, but with the stronger pills it killed him. next to him was a piece of paper immedietly his friends thought it was a suicide note and told that to the press, then later read it. it was a song entitled "The story of life" i guess nobody's really sure what happened, and arguing helps nobody.

according to the book written by mitch mitchel "inside the experience" and official medical records of the time-jimi died from choking on his own vomit because he was "strapped down to a gurney"and the sleeping pills he had taken was NOT enough for an overdose. mitch thought there was something fishy about the whole thing-suggesting "something fishy" but now we will never know. all you people that weren`t alive at the time-don`t feed on gossip-do some research!

The Biography Channel is showing a new documentary of Jimi Hendrix, telling his story "in his own words" (from interviews he did, letters he wrote, etc). It's narrated by William Earl "Bootsy" Collins, the GREAT bass player who rose to prominence with James Brown in the late '60s, and with Parliament-Funkadelic in the '70s. Check it out if you get a chance.
