I’m thoroughly convinced this is one of the best songs ever written, objectively. Something about the chords and the progression flows together so beautifully. It taps into that primal lizard part of your brain that associates sounds with emotions and tickles it just right. It’s joyous, somber, excited and calm all at the same time. This song truly is a masterpiece.

No argument there, yet Hendrix once said, the only guitar player better than himself was Terry Kath. "When first hearing Terry Kath play, Jimi Hendrix was quoted as saying that he thought Terry Kath played guitar better than he did. It was later on reported that Jimi Hendrix also called Terry Kath the “Best Guitarist in the Universe.” Regardless, that's amazing company there!

the audio quality makes it sound like it's coming from another dimension, or straight from the past, as if it was being played live but there's a wall between the scene and us and we have to go through the whole thing with our ears near a tiny hole in that wall. And it's even more tragic that way

Jimi told his brother Leon this song was about their mother. Also the song angel is about her. Castles made of sand the part about drawing her wheel chair to the edge of the shore was also about his absent mother. she was wheel chair bound but continued to drink hard and was found unresponsive in an alley outside a bar. Died in the hospital with ruptured spleen. Possibly was assaulted. Poor Jimi fought so much pain in his life that no one really knows about but he overcame sexual abuse, poverty, racism, physical and emotional abuse and out of all this pain came amazing music. His music is and always will be the best for me.

+davidlepahe Don't even give those a second thought; no matter how great you are, there will be people who dislike it, often it seems the greatest art attracts the most hate. The thumbs up and down buttons are a dumb idea anyway. Let those who enjoy beauty, simply enjoy it, and those who don't can go their own way in peace.

+davidlepahe What Greg Vinson said plus some people may have down voted due to quality of the upload. This one is pretty good quality imo so I didn't down vote this but I've down voted great songs on YT due to the shitty quality of the vid. Mostly those who take their camera phone or web cam and sit in front of their TV and record off the screen and you can hear their kids yelling in the background and the vids all shaky LOL!
@Gregorypeckory9 жыл бұрын
Lady Deadpool 💋 Yes I agree with your disapproval of terrible quality recordings of great music. It is like displaying great paintings covered by filthy plastic; profoundly disrespectful of the art and those who truly appreciate it. I have seen people post videos of music that is almost drowned out by the scratchy hiss of their horrible gear (most often, crappy cell phones). If there was a way to do it, I'd consider it just to ban them from ever posting videos of someone else's music again. I also agree, that considering the period, this particular recording isn't too bad, and was certainly worth watching and listening to.

“Little Wing” is like one of these beautiful girls that come around sometimes. You ride into town for the drinks and parties and so forth. You play your gig; it’s the same thing as the olden days. And these beautiful girls come around and really entertain you. You do actually fall in love with them because that’s the only love you can have. It’s not always the physical thing of ‘Oh, there’s one over there…’ It’s not one of those scenes. They actually tell you something. They release different things inside themselves, and then you feel to yourself, ‘Damn, there’s really a responsibility to some of these girls, you know, because they’re the ones that are gonna get screwed. “Little Wing" was a very sweet girl that came around that gave me her whole life and more if I wanted it. And me with my crazy *** couldn’t get it together, so I’m off here and there and off over there. - Jimi Hendrix

Pure bliss of a song. What a musical achievement... So humble but so divine at the same time. Gave genesis to "catch the rainbow" both musically and lyrically, even if Ritchie Blackmore would never admit it. But listen carefully... 💯🇮🇩This Jimmy Hendrik song is the best and always sing because the song is iconic, the lyrics are easy to remember and not boring, especially the guitar melodies that really touch the heart and soul❤️❤️🤟🤟
