I don't comment on here often but I have just got to say, THANK YOU MARTY. I'm 60 years old and I started playing guitar when I was 13. I was a little above average but in 1995 I was in a car accident and I cut my Left arm really bad. I cut my ulmar and radius nerves into. I couldn't use the fingers in my left hand for months. But I slowly got the use of the ring and pinky fingers back close to normal. But the middle and pointer have about 60 percent use. So I didn't pick up another guitar until just a few years ago. I have to improvise I can't do bar chords but I do okay. But since I've been doing Marty's lessons I'm actually able to play the lead to this song and it's just a blessing that I can play at all. Jimi Hendrix was my idol and now I'm actually playing lead to one of my favorite songs and I just want to say thank you Marty. THANK YOU SO MUCH

Marty i have to say thank you for changing my life, over a two years ago i would never think about getting a guitar. Until one day my neighbor was throwing out they're old acoustic. But i would never know how to play my first song that I learned if it wasnt for you (it was just like heaven from the cure) the feeling i got from learning that song gave me confidence it made me feel great about my self. Ever since ive been learning so much from i would come home from school and learn a new song everyday and i still do. I would never think i would be able to play such a simple song or solo from jimi hendrix, like im just realizing this now. Ya its not like a super hard song but to see where i came from it feels good man. And I remember your other channel stopped posting tutorials and i got sad for a bit until i found this channel. But anyways,Thank you so much and god bless you. much love for you man and only good vibes🙏🏻💕

It's funny that the algorithm puts guitar lesson ads over the Marty vids, saying how horrible KZbin guitar lessons are. Whoa, are they mistaken! Marty is the best. They'd be better off selling cool guitars or accessories than competing with Marty.

Thanks for posting. Really worked out the subtle major notes I was playing wrong. I still just don’t understand how someone can come up with something so fucking wacky and good and simple. Hendrix really was head-scratchingly amazing. I know he’s considered the best by many, but I wonder if people are still baffled by his playing like I am.

That really is an awesome solo. Not "easy", yet not too difficult. The hardest part for me in solos is remembering exactly how it goes. Ear training I believe is what that is called. This one is familiar which makes it easier. That last part you played with the effects was awesome. Must practice this classic solo! Thanks Marty!!

this video made me think of a decent idea for all floyd rose users who do not use a stabilizer. doing bends will make you go out on other strings obviously. try holding the bar when you begin to bend to compensate. i used to place my hand on the bridge to add pressure to help but the bar idea seems work sitting down. i feel stupid because i have been playing guitar for 19 years and this just came to me. im slow hahahahaha

Marty, I'm really enjoying your new project! I started searching out your lessons and song tutorials a long time ago. I love the ease, humor, and encouraging vibe you project. Most recently, you inspired me to go back and really learn the fretboard and theory I'd either forgotten or never learned. My playing has taken a giant leap forward - thanks brother! Also - that rake upward lick I first learned as one of the iconic licks in Black Dog probably from you :-) How about more on soloing around the melody ala Jerry, Allman Brothers etc? Peace!
