Otras versiones, le he notado INSPIRADO, EMBRAVECIDO, COMO UN TORRENTE...Y SE NOTA QUE ESE DÍA ESTABA BIEN "PUESTO" DE LO QUE FUERA. Da igual, todas las versiones ME GUSTAN.

I would say not the "junkiest" version but the most "bluesy-improvisational" Jimi at his best!! Been loving him since I was a 13-year-old kid who wanted to play like him....growing up in Frisco in the 60s and 70s there was such a great musical scene. First album I was introduced to was Jimi Hendrix Experience...and was hooked on him since. To ME, he is the greatest guitarist EVER.

I have never heard this. Been a Jimi Hendrix fan since i heard his shit on the FM, but I got a couple records after he had died and i was old enough to dig it! When i was like 13 in '73. This is so mellow yet heavy too and .. well hell the songs not over yet! Yea it's that great! Dennis 61 years Dallas/Austin, Texas

I had a European issue of "Are You Experienced?"which has a different song lineup than the US version, and it had a studio version of "Red House", which I've been unable to find online. It wasn't the version found on "Smash Hits", or a live version. I remember at the end Theresa little studio banter, I assume with Chas Chandler, where Jimi asks "How's that?", and Chas says "save that, you should put that on an album", to which Jimi responds "Hell yeah!"

Good and greasy!! 💖
@6SL2 жыл бұрын
I agree. Greasy, aka nasty, dirty. This is totally improvised as is the nature of blues in this context i.e. a live gig where you're playing the same blues tune or otherwise for the umpteenth time that month. That is how I interpreted what the original poster was saying when he said. "junkiest". I didn't take his comment as a negative. Those among us that are guitar players know how it is when improvising especially in a I IV V blues progression. Sometimes it just smokes. Everything comes together... the feel, energy, timing, tempo, tone, the licks, overall sound of the room, amp settings etc. is just right. It gels. Duane Allman used to refer to that collection of conditions as ""hittin' the note." On the other hand, sometimes it just doesn't sound right. It just doesn't happen due to the absence of one or more of the previously noted conditions. Consequently, same tune never sounds the same or comes out the same twice. This live version has some really good "twist of note" licks and phraising in it. Mitchell and Redding however, do many times tend to plod along on some of the live blues thats out there and on this one too but I can overlook that because of what Hendrix "said" here and my appreciation of just how good Mitchell was. First JHE I ever heard was "Fire" when first released c '67. Blew my 15 yr old mind to pieces. My favorite versions of Red House are two studio versions (only studio versions Ive ever heard) I have them on "Smash Hits" (vinyl) and if I remember correctly, "Blues". Two versions of the same tune possibly cut on the same day. Don't really know though. Basically the same tune & arrangement but with different nuances that make a difference. Stay healthy. Best to all...
@dhulbert8552 жыл бұрын
@@6SL Yup, Fire was the shot across the bow of rock. I turned 16 in 67 and soon everything from Are You Experienced was just the best ever! And then it turned me from a drummer into a guitarist since no one in my garage bands were adventurous enough to tackle Hendrix.

Jimi was always improvise on "red house blues" on stage ,"junkiest" isn't very kind ,it's a version like an other ,the rythm section seems asleep tough ....Maybe everybody is drunk or stoned or both ,and so what ? Nobody's perfect ....He could have played that exactly like the studio version ,which is amazing ,i don't like that judgement : "junkiest " ,maybe they are tired too ,they often played two gigs one after the other ....
@ericgold85002 жыл бұрын
He didn't meant that it was a bad performance, he used junkiest as coolest, that's what I did understand.

Gibson Flying V which Jimi called his "Flying Angel." Incredibly responsive guitar, but the tone is more horn-like and legato, with a deeper bass sound, and not as conducive to the harmonic-saturated soundscapes available with a Strat.
@hesch-tag2 жыл бұрын
@@Ubu987 No, this is the white Gibson SG, not the V. The V had a much darker heavy sound. Or it was a Black Les Paul because I've seen pictures of him playing one at the Fillmore in '68.
