Both primitive and futuristic all at the same time - nothing today can touch this! When today's corporate sponsored pop is just a 5 sec cringe in the future and I mean 100s of years in the future Hendrix and his ilk (The Beatles etc) will be as important as the classical composers when time has put all music in perspective.
@beavinator4205 жыл бұрын
It may sound "futuristic" to you but idk why, and by hundreds of years? Nah, but he did make some unique and dynamic pieces of original material, he captured magic in his playing and touched the strings just right. My personal favorite guitarist, it's quite obvious why in this song. To me this is the Pinnacle of guitar playing, and his voice demands respect with convincing tone.

@Keeling Charles i agree you knew what i meant. He was ahead of the times. Better than what came next, the tap craze. They killed hendrix because he was dark pigmented. Fkd up. Just cause he was the best. He didnt drown on wine.

Compare Clapton's solo on "Crossroads" to Jimi's here and you will begin to understand the difference between the blues guitar and the psychedelic guitar style. After sailing into the psychedelic cosmos, Jimi returns to earthly reality at 6:40. He could do both styles, defining the '60's psychedelic aura like no one else.
@lungflogger95 жыл бұрын
agree though keep in mind Crossroads' solo had to navigate over 3 three chord changes and this one over a drone of one tonality.

But rather fresh ,I think he was a little full of himself to act indifferent,non chalant way but still engaged to drop 1 liners that were so visually colorful and profound . especially for a 7 th 8th grader like myself hearing this at that time .epitomizing the genr that 7 yrs older than myself.but the indifference sometimes rubbed Noel the wrong way...like when Jimi ( Mr.Hendrix) would turn facing his speakers or just not face the audience, because he's showing frustration for not getting that perfect sound,denying his audience.even though he was blowing the tops of their skills off with a wall of colors.
@joem13094 жыл бұрын
@@homoerectus744 Yeah you dont understand what youre talking about. He faced the speakers to increase the feedback of his guitar, one of the methods being pioneered in that time. Hes not showing frustration, he was a blues artist he understood performance wasn't about perfection.

Lord Goblin maybe ,you know they use to play nearly everyday,concerts are quite physical,that and his drug use probably made him look a bit tired,maybe he was happy this day no one knows now
@Voodoo66Chile Жыл бұрын
The comments are interesting, Noel explained why they seemed "out of it" during this performance... It was hard to track down dope (weed) in Sweden so other than some alcohol they were playing fairly straight and annoyed. They tracked down some pot before the second set and they are much more lively and imo is a much better set than this one.
