Set him free. I believe it means once they put him down his clothing changes signifies that he is free. The walls look like cage bars holding him in. He uses lyrics from other songs, like gotta be insane to be sane from ON. He is breaking free. He is going to be himself no matter how hard it is or what anyone thinks so I am assuming we are going to be seeing a true side of him from here going forth. He did say he wanted to be more raw. ❣I’m just so beyond excited! Jimin’s “Set Me Free Pt.2’, it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this makes me that much more excited, waiting in anticipation for release of the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” on March 24, along with his other, main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, 8 was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! I’ve always been so frustrated not being able to see as well as hear Jimin’s full capacity of talent. So often not being fully taken advantage of, but that comes with being part of a group, that has every single member having so much talent that it’s been so limiting for Jimin, especially him being so selfless, making a point of having others shine before himself. Also I so appreciated’ the main producer Jimin worked with throughout this whole album was the in-house legendary genius of a producer Pdogg! JIMIN also worked with him on his song that he also wrote, & composed, ‘Friends’ that was even featured as one of the songs in Marvel movie ‘The Eternals’, that song as well as this song and BTS song ‘ON’, also had the LA producing, engineering team, also involved, Who also used choir for background chorus vocals! As well. There is even a Documentary on making of ‘ON’ which is all about this amazing production team! Also in Jimin’s Behind making if ‘FACE’ album, there is a clip shown when he was there in LA with that production team, showing how they all were applauding hin’ Jimin for the last couple of yrs, all throughout the making of his FACE album has flown to LA or NY to meet with various famous well known producers, who’ve worked with equally famous well known artists! We know this because these producers posted online excited & raving about how amazing working with Jimin was! JIMIN himself always keeps quiet about what he’s doing or working on, til it’s released! I love the German poem on his chest. So beautiful. Jimin is such an intelligent person academically, people may not realize how much of a genius he is. This video is so poetic in its symbolism of black and white, dark and light, shadow self and higher self, demons and angels, etc. It is so powerful to witness his evolution, growth, and metamorphosis. It seems like the white at the end symbolizes either a clean slate from being set free, the butterfly emerging from the cocoon, or the Phoenix rising from the ashes. In all ways, it means transformation and rebirth. Great job, Jimin and everyone who was a part of this magnificent project!
