The “backup band” consists of legendary, genius producer Pdogg, who worked with BTS since beginning as producer & songwriter, also producers GHSTLOOP and EVAN, all 3 also worked alongside with Jimin for his first solo album, 2023’s FACE, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, as well as for MUSE his 2nd album that will be released July 19 KST, July 18 in other time zones. Smeraldo is an imaginary flower that comes from the BTS Universe. It's the story of The Truth Untold (a BTS song by the vocal line) then the story continues with the Highlight Reel... In the BU, the Smeraldo is the flower of secret and pain but also of the sincerity that could not be delivered. Here, Jimin switches the sad story of the BU in an happy one cuz he ables to deliver his true feeling to ARMY. So that's not just an bubbly song, like often with BTS, the meaning is deeper under the sugar coated vibe. Also in the dance, the choreography, especially the one that’s made as a dance challenge on tiktok, Jimin is even doing in sign language, the hand signs, for I love you, while dancing, ❤️ 👍🙏🥰☺️ The song also is in reference, an homage to the Beatles, as well as Beatles album Sgt Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band, which Jimin used as inspiration, even singing lyrics “I want to hold your hand”! An excellent clue already happened in the vid: “A Day with Jimin in NYC by vogue, (perhaps you might want to watch it), which was basically a behind the scene, filmed during the time Jimin debuted “Like Crazy” on Jimmy Fallon show last yr. same day his album FACE dropped. I agree, it weirdly grows on you quite fast. I didn't like it at first. Now I really wonder how it fits in the full album! It's track 3 after Rebirth and Interlude Showtime. I think it'll transition from the darkness of FACE through these first 3 songs, into the light! And then the album ends with Closer Than This, right next to Army (ref. SNTY, CBTM, ...). At their level I'm 10000000% sure nothing just happens to their music, they can make people work on their song until it is what they want, so " Jimin deserves better" doesn't feel right to me, he's a grown up man and with a huge influence in Korea, he approves of everything he "deserves". Jimin has both writing and production credits on this, he doesn’t “deserve better,” he did exactly what he wanted. It’s the flip side to the truth untold conceptually, finding the bravery to be honest about one’s feelings.Nothing wrong with being joyous or being in love.
