I have a theory about Jimin joining BTS. HYBE held an emergency audition and recruited a dancer Jimin. Kinda bizarre to be looking for a dancer when BTS' debut was just around the corner and in those days idols trained for many many years before debut. My guess is they did that to fill Hobi's position. This is because Hobi had left BTS pre-debut, when exactly we do not know. But if we put 2 by 2 together it makes sense to say that the audition was to fill Hobi. But Hobi came back. So what do we do with 2 dancers? There was no such thing as 2 MAINs in kpop. The reason there were all kinds of positions was to avoid conflicts, everyone has a job and having 2 MAINS will be inviting big conflicts. Jimin's position in the team was in danger and he worked his ass off so he could stay. V shared in a video that one day Bang PD called all of them 1 by 1 to ask if Jimin should stay. V said he said yes, I'm sure the rest said yes too. Especially Jhope because having 2 main dancers will be no easy decision to make (but we know Hobi to be selfless and he must have assured Bang PD that there will be no conflicts). And so BigHit bucked the norm by having 2 main dancers with Jimin confirmed as a member and he was the only one featured in the thumbnail of their first MV - We are BulletProof Pt2. That was kinda forshadowing the future King of Kpop. LOL. I have to add though that Jimin never went for formal singing classes in the early years. BigHit did not enrol Jimin (because he was still an unconfirmed member? Ahah, this lend weight to my previous theory) and only the 3 other vocalists were in singing classes. So after their class Jimin asked them what was taught and he learned by himself. He legit self-taught himself. Which is all the better because we have his unique singing. And thanks to BigHit for having the confidence to also appoint Jimin as a lead vocalist despite him not having any formal training. That means that Jimin is the only person in BTS to have a #1 and #2 position, a huge responsibility which he more than pull off magnificently.

For me, Jimin came to BTS as a dancer who also can sing, but his place was a main dancer, but at the end, he became a singer and not just that, but also one of the most recognised voices in the k-pop and a main voice in BTS. It's something amazing.

@@Busanboy7692 Obviously the vocal line are singers, but even him in the last conversation with RM said that he was not a singer, he was a dancer. All four of them sing, but when the company chose them, they gave them a "role" because that was their strong point, and in the case of jimin, it was because he was a GREAT dancer. Like i said, it's not me who said that, Jimins say it himself.

He was not a singer before he was still a trainy but he wanted to sing to and he said he watch jk and V's while having practice and joined, he even cry at the toilet bec he wanted to do so and he practiced everyday, bec of his devotedness he became a singer and main dancer of Bts with JHOpe they are the main dancers of Bts

His voice is very stable. I am an dancer and can sing also. You wanna know how hard it is to dance and sing together. The dance is more exhausting coz theres jumping and fast walking almost semi running, plus the high notes? Thats some control and talent. This is Jimin.

Ultimately the break from group activities has been a blessing. They’re all amazing from the get go, but you can tell they all had a little fear/trepidation doing things solo. I feel in their second solo projects, they’ve grown and gotten more comfortable. And vocally, one could imagine how hindered or restricted they were from singing just a few lines in a song as part of a group. This is probably the best control Jimins ever had. He always sounded great, but you can tell he’s elevated
