Simply because he was forced in a trolley problem, there was no good solution to the problem and the "best" one was simply to do nothing since all the others suck far more ( if you don't consider Jiminy cricket crashing the ship since they're unaware at the time but we'll come back to that.. ) Option 1: murder It doesn't take a genius to see that this option sucks because A. Murder is wrong no matter how you slice it. B. It doesn't solve crap C. It's still a CRIME and I don't think that the crew's new employer would enjoy seeing a "convicted for murder" on their resume Option 2: Contain This option doesn't work either since the Tulpar doesn't have any means to contain anyone, the only rooms that have locks are the worst to leave a guy in( med bay, mechanic, cockpit ). And the cryopod isn't an option either since it doesn't contain people it preserve them so I'd reckon it's pretty easy to go out of one if you really want it. Option 3: Calling the Police Would be the second best option... If it wasn't for the fact that the guy responsible for all of this stick to the communication device like a pope to a kid making it impossible to do it without jingle bell noticing... Which would end up in at least 2 people dieing.. So the only "good" answer to this problem was to stall for time until they reached earth so Jambalaya could be arrested by the competent authorities... Which unfortunately also implies not interacting with Anya too much since Joshua might come back for another to take revenge( which is why the only moment we see Curly and Anya being close are the only moment they're sure that nobody else can hear or see them) And remember that Jericho only snapped because Curly got that promotion from Pollie.co so if they didn't try to corrupt him none of this would've happened and Curly's plan would have worked.

Honeslty, this kinda makes sense for Curly if he wasnt the one who got blasted. He does care about teh crew, but often ignores the finer details for the bigger picture (wich was what lead to many of the problems before teh crash)... in here, hes still doing it, but in a constructive manner. As rough and cold as it he is, he has a point: - Anya needs to focus and the last thing he needs is her killing Jimmy cause that action will mess her up. - Daisuke, while hes enthusiasm is good, he really has no skill from what i recall, so him being on standby is a good thing, especialy in such a brutal situation. I think if they soemhow get a message out but realize it will take to long for people to arrive it could lead to two scenarios: - Swansea has no reason to hide the cryo-pod, so he might have time to fix a 2nd one in his spare time possibly. - The option of killing Jimmy, so the crew can survive, while brutal, could be necessary.

Yeah this is actually what curly taking responsibility would look like since ppl act like he’s gonna be super charitable to anya and not be the captain of the ship keeping everyone safe. It’s infuriating a little considering it’s still not what we really want to see but it’s the best series of decisions he could’ve made with maybe letting her… get some get back on Jimmy whilst he’s…. Incapacitated. Like who says it has to be a murder🤷🏾‍♂️. Also an argument could be made that they could just drop Jimmy out the ship and tell themselves it’s a lack of resources. Idk maybe it’s my wanting for vengeance on Jimmy but. They could’ve been creative

It's amazing how people reduce Curly as "100% innocent" or "100% evil" when the truth is that the character is simply realistic and well written. His main problem is how his empathy is directed towards all the characters including his friend, Jimmy. He was the captain, he wanted everyone to be in a good mood and satisfy both parties, and in his mind the best way to do that was to ignore the bad and avoid confrontation at all costs. Yes, he was a bad captain for trying to give Jimmy a second chance (we all want to believe that horrible people, and especially those close to us, can change) and for not properly handling the Anya situation. But does that make him a bad person? Honestly, in my opinion, no. He's not good and he's not bad, but that doesn't mean he's responsible for Jimmy's actions, every decision he made was with a positive intention, and that's what led to his downfall.

Peoples really ask why would curly not let Anya kill Jimbo makes me remember how people can downplay the fragility of mind. Yes, the option of 'remove the irritant' works... If you are the one sitting in a cosy lil room, with coffee and without body next to you that needs unaliving. Killing someone, even accidentally is akin to striking your concious with a bat. And if you knew the one you killed, each memory, reminder and closeness is an additional spike added to this bat. And nothings brings you closer to someone than good ol trauma. Yes she might feel better. Everyone might be better off, because there`s no additional body that consumes food, oxygen and medical supplies. Or she might tweak. Go off the wrong end. Cause some accidents. Break as a person. And she is the only medical specialist on the ship. And chances of "break/feel better" are not 50-50, since she already has cracks in psyche. Would you take that risk? Ready to be responsible beacuse you closed your eyes again?

I like this Curly; he's what I think a leader should be. Someone who has authority under his crew and honestly if he were to have been like before the crash Jimmy wouldn't have been able to crash the ship probably. Curly would've probably had him under surveillance 24/7 and probably hide a lot of the things that could cause shit to go down like the pilot key, the code scanner, and the gun possibly even giving it to Anya just in case Jimmy gets out somehow. In the game he's not the ideal leader, but he morals and mentality I can respect to a point not the "try to look over your friend raping someone" part but the "looking at the bigger picture" part which is still bad but is good as well to have at times.

I actually love this since it still shows curlys flaws whilst he actually steps up in the most realistic and fair way in the situation. Would love to see a scene where he’s just giving a promo or monologue to Jimmy and seeing him for all he is now. Jimmy reminds me of if Dan from Dan vs went evil and ppl around him just had enough and honestly seeing this and from the outside looking in Jimmy be a handful and useless past the principle of keeping him alive. At least Dan has a good heart so if he did anything close to what Jimmy did it wouldn’t hit as hard. Also idk I wish anya just did him dirty like that in the beginning. Maybe let some of her worst moments out on the man who ruined her life.. I’d have personally. Looked the other way until she actually tried to kill him. But of justified irresponsible karmic retribution.
