They're Getting Modded: Dover T4 High-Speed Elevators at Treasure Island in Las Vegas, NV.

Filmed on June 7, 2018: This has been a TOTAL OF THREE casino hotels on the Las Vegas Strip with their elevators I have seen so far on my trip that are in the process of getting modernized!!!!! Sadly, you would have to show your room key to a security member in order to get on the elevators, but I spoke to 2 security guys standing in the corner of both elevator lobby entrance ways about my hobby and if I could get a quick video of the original 1993 Dover Traflomatic IV elevators before they are all gone, and they both let me! :D During the time I recorded this, at least 1-2 security personnel members were on their break time, so I am SO GLAD I got a FULL BETTER HD TAKE on these BEAUTIFUL, FAST Dover Traflomatic IV elevators!!!!!!!! :D :D :D These are definitely one of MY MOST ABSOLUTE FAVORITE elevators in Vegas!!!!! The cabs have been redone since I last filmed here back in 2012, but I LOVE the big square buttons!!!! :D I do not see any point of why they are modernizing these as they run just fantastic and are in perfect shape. Esp. being only 25 years old. As I rode the modded elevator (Otis Gen2Mod system) during the middle of this video, it traveled pretty slow that you do not even feel the pressure other than the old ones (Dover Traflomatic IV). The old and original elevators traveled WAY FASTER than the modded ones. See? That basically PROVES you how newer elevators today run and why I hate mods! Old high-rising elevators from the 1920's all the way to now were super fast like an amusement park ride and had real characters in them (original fixtures, motors, and other relay-logic equipments), and THAT exceeds my strong, valid definition is what REAL elevators are unlike the modern today ones. With that said, enjoy a final ride on these beautiful Dover T4 elevators before they are going bye-bye. Installed in 1993, to be modernized in 2018-2019 and so on.

The elevators are just fine original. Modernizations should be done when the elevator is in bad condition or renovations of the building are being done.

WHAT!?!? I've never got a chance to push these buttons. I think the High Rises are not Gen2 mods because of maximum of 28 Floors. Eh, I guess the Series M2 is fine, but I prefer the Dovers. They use Innovation Bar PB 10 Buttons. They're DOVIS

Sigh, another Vegas classic is being destroyed. I loved the beautiful call chimes for up and down. A shame that these are getting modded. More and more of Steve Wynn's works of art are slowly fading away. Wynn and Encore had there custom TKEs modded with MAD BS already. Mirage and Belliago are lucky to have them mostly intact. (btw, i found out that all banks of Mandalay now require a key to operate 24/7)

Otis mostly always use the CE Electronics floor indicator when modernizing elevators.

Love the videos. FYI, Gen2s aren’t usually used on modernizaions. So i dont think these are Gen2s but I could be wrong. These have Series M4 buttons as series 7 /newer series 2/4 are not used in modernization packages, but yet another pointless mods

The low rise elevators were all finished but the high rise were in bad condition and they haven’t even started to do the modernization.

Were there any Otis technicians when you stayed at this hotel? So the high-rise ones are in the process of modernization? Do you know how were these in bad condition? When I was here in 2018, I did not see any signs of wear at all.

There were no Otis Technicians at Treasure Island but there was a Otis truck at Caesars palace and the reason I say they are in bad condition is because the elevator button letters were torn off and my floor which was the 30th floor the elevator door paint was wearing off and the down button looked like it was punched in because It was stuck in. Also the indicator on one of the cars was broken. When I stayed in 2019 the high rise weren’t getting modernized but I don’t know if they are modernized now.

So you did not see any technicians when you were in Vegas the whole time? I actually saw like 13-15 of them when I was in town back in 2018. I also saw a ThyssenKrupp van off at Caesars as well. Mainly are Schindler technicians, but I've met 4 ThyssenKrupp technicians and one technician from this local company called Progressive Elevator.

They nearly sound like Otis chimes so I think they used to be an older Otis then modded by the dover and then the newer otis

Why do they have to replace the motor with a slower one? Sure, it saves a little electricity, but it is much slower.

These aren't Gen 2. Its an Otis M2 elevators. They kinda have Gen 2 voices but it says "Floor 24". Also M2 does not travel more then 700 FPM. But it is just sad they are getting modded. 😭😭😭😭😭😭

At least the speed travel is the same(500-800 fpm),and really needs a better indicator,you almost don't see anything,and better lighting buttons,will have voice,once you ride this modded one,you will love it,plus the new lanterns are awesome
