Even 25 years later this is one of my favorite bands. We were both making the rounds of the local music scene at the same time. The first time I saw them I was awestruck. I was sure they'd be super stars.

So the reason I came back to JCS was because I heard a song by Humphreys McGee...In the Kitchen, and there was a familiar change in it that I couldn't finger out? Then I remembered it was in a JCS song, now my journey was to find that song. As I listen to each son on the album, what memories! If this band had the sound engineering value of like Sevendust, Disturbed or Godsmack...what a great sound they'd produced. Although they were more diverse than those bands covering this and regeaa in another title I can't remember.
@Chris-f4n5r2 ай бұрын
There is nothing different or better on the sound production n engineering of godsmack, sevendust, disturbed Vs jimmies chicken shack, other than maybe those bands you think are better soundin have way overly exaggeratted bass/lowend and gain on all studio tracks even when the drummer or bassist barely hit any notes at all as that was the trend then vs jcs being well balanced eq. If anything jcs had better sound quality n equalization. I suggest you become educated about recording and music production b4 you go around acting like you know even a little bit in those areas. The main thing that stopped jcs from success of bands you claim had better sound quality is simply that jcs just never kept releasing lps and touring. JCS sadly , abruptly stopped all activities very early. Where as the bands you falsely think succeeded bc of studio quality, set a solid cycle of making new albums with extensive touring to promote. Its quite a basic principle in reality. If a band is idle too long stagnating they lose all momentum and recognition.

@@Chris-f4n5r Everyone is entitled to a free speech opinion but why would you go around telling someone else not to speak their opinion? Disagreement is a CRUCIAL part in society. That said... I'm a 56 year old retired musician. I started playing drums when I was 6 then picked up guitar at 11. I was playing in the family band, playing Tejano music by 13. I was a typical youth & wanted to play Boston, Foreignor, VH, Ratt, Metallica, etc...so I left the band to form my own 1st band in 9th grade. By my 3rd band in 11th, we were giggin. Back then, even in bars that we were underage in. At 18 I took 2nd place in the old 80s "Hot Licks" guitar contests for Michigan. I was offered to do studio work in Chicago but I turned it down because I had just joined a new band & we were ambitious! We were in the studio within that year recording our 4 song demo on which I wrote one song & collabed on 2 others AND CO-PRODUCED. We were getting noticed by labels, unfortunately it was the late 80s & there was a cookie cutter expectation to hard rock/heavy/glam metal. We auditioned for a label in 1990 but were passed over to a band "Seraiah" who we ended up opening for on a tour. After that our demo had a hit song in central America so we got backing to do a short tour there. It was a great experience as we played in front of some of the largest crowds I'd ever play in front of in my life. My rep was growing as a guitarist so when we got back I did some studio work for a couple other producers on a couple projects. I was asked to do some production work on some up & coming bands. At 22 I found out my GF was pregnant & I took a long hiatus from music. After 10 years, I can relate to JCS in real life, I had built a studio in our house & kept writing through the 90s & when I came back, alternative & grunge was starting to fade. Indie & Nu-Metal, drop D tuning, which I knew from the 80s VH/Ratt did, was on the rise so thats what got me back into the industry. I won't go into more detail but I continued to work playing, recording, writing & producing for another 10 years but retired completely in my early 40s to start preparing for life after music & retirement. In a nutshell...yeah, I know a little lot about everything music. I never said that the bands I mentioned were more popular "BECAUSE OF THEIR SOUND" & Morgan Rose is regarded as one of the best drummers in the industry. If any band gets RELEVANT & wants to remain RELEVANT you have to work including JCS, who hold a special place in my past like Reverend Right Time. In the future, try be less judgemental, understand theres 8 billion people on this planet who have different backgrounds therefore different opinions. Just be open to disagreement & when necessary, peaceful debate. Love ya as a fellow human being.
