Diesel's guitar is as usual, superb. Saw him live a few months back, he's got it!

I used to do a delivery job driving interstate - 13 hour round trip. When I'd be close to getting home around 4am I'd almost be sleeping at the wheel. I remember on occasions this song coming on the radio, and I swear it got me home.

Jimmy used to be a wild child.... on stage, mic in one hand and a bottle of hard liquor in the other. Everyone just assumed he would eventually crash and burn. Booze and a career are never a successful partnership. Thankfully, he ended up getting his life sorted and we were sure glad he did. His songs are dynamic and his delivery is full-on.

Jimmy goes just as well all these years later. Ive seen him on the Cold Chisel 50 year tour twice in November, excellent. None of the guys have lost anything in 50 years. Both nights they played hard for 2 hours.

i live in Mossman Far north Queensland and it would take me 22 hours driving just to get to state capital( Brisbane) from where i live, just last Monday i drove from my place to my daughters place to take her cat back to her children, we moved her early in the year due to domestic violence and she could not take the cat with her, so i took it home till she settled down again, it was my pleasure to make the kids happy again the drive was 12 hours round trip

btw what a perfect song this is for Jimmy since hes got that grunty voice, goes with the grunty big trucks
@richardkenna1495 ай бұрын
😮The slide (lap steel actually) intro and possibly the rest of the slide in the song was played by David Lindley. Diesel is in the clip but he didn't play on the record, he did join jimmy's band for the tour though.

Those lyrics "Motel rooms and broken hearts" reminds me of an old customer i had. I climbed into his truck to fix an airleak in the cabin and noticed 20 burner phones all lined up across the top shelf with clips above the windscreen. I got to ask him when he got back and he and another truck driver just laughed. Those are all ladies that he knows, doesnt matter where in the country he is, he knows he can pick up the phone and give them a call and have a warm bed for the night. They are spread out all over.
