Some wild takes from jimmy this episode, Charlie didn’t miss, was on fire about the PNG discussion. We don’t need NRL to be a catalyst to political stability. Cheese saying PNG is better than Perth is exactly what you would expect him to say

To Cheese - maintain your composure. And if that conversation happens use the word "I". "I felt uncomfortable when you ... " Because for the Roosters, this is a pattern. The thoughtless cruelty to ring a young man on the other side of the world, playing his heart out for his country DOES NOT come from a good place. You demonstrate professional behaviour yourself.

I think the point getting missed about the PNG conversation is that its building towards PNG been able to produce its own talent. It might take 10 years or longer but at some stage with proper coaching through all levels they will produce and retain there own NRL level talent. There is also a ex-pat community already there so players with families will definitely be able to bring children

Maybe a PNG team could kill 3 birds with 1 stone. You'd get a PNG team that slows down 🇨🇳, WA has time to set up as 19th with it's pathways, and the NRL could limit the rounds to cater for tests during the the origin window in the new broadcast deal.

I would have no issue with moving over to PNG if the compound met my needs. They could make it like a resort, have a nice pool with slides for kids, quality education, allow diplomats and their families to live in the compound to increase the number of fresh faces, quality food, maybe even a restaurant that opens a few nights a week with a wide variety of food options. It could be done so well. The best part is the players still go to Australia every 2nd week and can spend their off season in Australia. Another point is they would have a much easier time getting the young talent from PNG especially if the family want to keep their kid close by which would make the team more in line with what it is supposed to be which is a PNG team.

I lived and worked in PNG. Money was fantastic and I could do anything I liked, but there is nothing. I lived and worked in a management position on Hamilton Island. Sadly you don't notice you are in paradise after a while, it feels like a jail with no escape. You dream of a weekend in Bourke so you can get Macas. Easy to say, very hard to do.
