12/6/24 I still come here to listen to this version of one of my favorite songs of his. I’ve been listening to his stuff since the late 70s. Now when I visit I can’t help but shed a tear or two. I feel like we sailed our lives together.

R.I.P. Jimmy. Your music brought so much joy to this world of sorrow. Your songs were adventurous, colorful, rich, and dramatic in storytelling without going overboard. A poetic singer of tales, your music will live on in the hearts of those who enjoy the water, tropical drinks, and great stories. While you are no longer with us, your music will always be in our hearts. Here’s a margarita to you and the legacy you left for us🍹

@@john1gun Sorry, but you're wrong, once again he's from The Alabama Gulf Coast. Also from a very prominent family. His Sister, Lucy Buffet is the owner of LuLu's very successful restaurant in Gulf Shores. His birthplace was in The State of Mississippi, but he was raised in Alabama. Check out Wikipedia, if you want to know the truth! If you even listen to his music, he references his home on The Alabama Gulf Coast. Have a nice day. :)

That's not true man. There's tons of rappers with a tremendous amount of talent who have incredibly deep songs. Listen to Tupac, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Z, etc.. And plenty of Jimmy Buffet songs are about kind of dumb things. Like Get Drunk And Screw. But people like rap songs about those kinds of things for the same reason that people like Get Drunk And Screw. They're just fun to listen to and let loose and have a good time.
