Everytime I hear this song, it reminds me of my Elementary Teacher, Mr. Julio Sampaga, back in 1959-60. He got a beautiful baritone voice and used to sing this song to us. He's a good looking young man then, admirable teacher and though strict at times, I see him as very fair and nice instructor. He used to walk number of kilometres crossing the ricefield just to be with us in Culiat Elementary School, coming from his residence at Kamuning, Quezon City. If he's still alive it would be wonderful if I can met again after more than 55 years.
