I saw your Dad with left hand Frank n 100 club in London in early 80's. When i came back home on the train I imagined those songs were being played through the train's loudspeakers. Logic told me they weren't but the soul told me they were.

@johnknottenbelt25028 жыл бұрын
Hi J-P Hurtubise. Yeah, I have seen / heard him before, when he came to a previous Durban Blues Fest as few years ago. We had a good chat between sets & I told him how us "young uns" (in the mid 60s), used to walk to all the gigs we went to, some distances well over 5 MILES. I told him that before I'd even heard about "walking blues" I practiced it, by singing my favourite tunes to myself whilst "doing the miles". It made the walk seem much shorter. I happened to tell him that one of my favourite "walking tunes" was a tune named "I'm walking (by myself), written by Jimmy Rogers. Well, that blew him away & then his reply blew me away. It turns out that Jimmy Rogers, was his father ! It immediately "bonded" us for the time..... Great guy ! Hence, my being keen to catch up with him again. Be well Bro' !

Thanks for uploading this. Jimmy is a true original. He has that sound man. His father was a great and very nice man. He wasone of the original bluesmen of Chicago. He learned from the very best, and it shows.
