to think that there was once a place and time where one could've seen both a Static Prevails era Jimmy Eat World AND Mineral play a set. As a Gen Z its something I'll never experience.

this band has always sounded just as good live as they do on their albums.

What Would I Say To You Now is pure gold. I was sad they don’t play this album anymore when I went to see them live, but it was nice to see other fans of it. I got a bracelet with that song on it.

Without a doubt, one of one of the best bands of the genre during that mid/late 90's period.

If I recall correctly, they were the only band on the bill that got an encore. That was a great weekend. I was in college at the time we came all the way from Rochester, NY through Canada to go to that festival! It was such a blast!

At the time I remember it was so weird there was this band on Capitol in “our scene.” But man, Capitol was on to something. These dudes on a different level. Amazing how tight there are at such a young age.

they were onto something but then they gave up on them. twice lol
@michaelgraham9774 Жыл бұрын
@Fire-Toolz Lowkey a miracle they stayed signed so long before Bleed American. As good as Clarity was, the sales figures probably weren't what the label was after. And it's not common for labels to dish out second chances on a band that hasn't really made big returns yet

@Antlion1613 жыл бұрын
what did he say?
@vinilopez45663 жыл бұрын
@@Antlion161 he said that he felt a little intimidated cause alot of hardcore and indie bands were playing there, and at this time they had released static prevails under capitol records, which was and i think still is sort of titan in the music industry. so you have alot DIY bands here and jimmy eat world was part of mayor and usually more smaller DIY/hardcore/underground scenes kinda hated that. so when people went over to their merch table and saw the cds with the capitol records logo they were like "what the hell is this?!" what are you doing here?" moral of the story, even of you get signed to a bigger label, it doesnt guarantee you'll immediately be selling out arenas and stadiums. i think even with the "support" of capitol, jimmy eat world still had to grind like any DIY band booking their own shows and tours
