Why do Minions have to ruin everything? Edit: Coming back to this as an adult (who’s still loves Nickelodeon) it makes complete sense for them to have upgraded it to Despicable Me. They had to license so many Nickelodeon characters but Universal actually owns the Minions. By the time this closed Nickelodeon’s logo and style had changed. They knew if they updated it SpongeBob had to be the main focus which is why they built SpongeBob StorePants. Haven’t forgiven them for replacing Shrek 4D with that terrible Minions ride/game monstrosity.

+Abby Sith So? Disney updated "Star Tours", and that was BEFORE they bought LucasFilm. Universal and Nickelodeon could have done the same. They could have made a new story with more focus to more Nicktoons instead of shoehorning most of them at the beginning, added some more Nicktoons from old and recent. Instead... Well... I guess Universal prefers the colors yellow and blue to orange and green.

It's not that good. It has constant long wait times only to be like this but barraging you with Minions and their antics. Not that enjoyable. But where JN and HB had a reason to be in a vehicle, aside from turning you into a minion (flashing a light on the vehicle with a minion on it) the whole thing is to be you running an obstacle course, no reason to be sitting. Also at times it felt like you're watching a movie when you have no real interaction with it.

this brings back so many memories. Universal Studios was always where I went on holiday, and even when I didn't watch these shows any more, it got a lump in my throat just to hear the theme tunes and see all the 'secondary characters'. I don't miss watching them, but I'll miss this ride, because it brought me closer to them. It pulled me right back in to these cartoons and stuck me on one of their crazy adventures. It sounds cliche, but that's exactly what it felt like.

In 2010 when my mom and I went to Universal Studios Florida, I had lucked out riding this once, and only *ONCE*. At the part with the Chicken Dance, we clapped our hands to the music. At least despite me riding it only once, I still snagged me a rather memorable souvenir: a Wanda (from The Fairly OddParents) doll.

I miss this ride sooo much because I watched jimmy neutron so freaking much as a little kid and till this day it's still one of my favorite cartoons of all time. I can honestly see why they decided to close it however because although the despicable me ride is not as fun/interesting in my opinion, there are many young kids this day and age who haven't even heard of the jimmy neutron cartoon because nickelodeon doesn't even show re runs anymore so it would be very hard for the young children of today to enjoy this ride if they don't have a clue who the characters in the ride are. I still really think universal should bring this ride back someday in the future though because it would definitely be a great trip back to my childhood!

Agree. ): It makes me really sad that it's not there anymore because since i was suchhh a litte kid, my dad would take me and my siblings like once in the year to orlando to go to the parks, and the jimmy neutron ride is the ride that i mostly remember of my dad taking me on. (my dad passed away 9 years ago so that's why I'm really sad it's gone. it's like a piece of my memory with him that we used to enjoy so much was stripped away from me to ever experience again).

Nickelodeon went bankrupt in the early 2000s due to opening a new theme park in Orlando. Now universal studio literally owns most of what was left of their theme park I can link the video of what happened if I can find it

Nick studios closed to poor attendance in 2005 i believe it was, and this ride closed in 2011, the reason being Jimmy Neutron wasn't being shown on tv anymore, along with most of the nicktoons featured on the ride. Spongebob is the only nicktoon left at universal

While I do hold this ride as a nostalgic pinnacle. I don't really think it's was that great when I initially rode it in 2004. When me and my family entered the park for the first time I wanted to make a beeline to the Back To The Future ride, which was my only motivation for wanting to go to Universal. Yes, at the ripe old age of 6, I was more excited for Back To The Future than I was for the Nicktoons. Looking back though, the ride was a nostalgic trip through my own Nickelodeon infused Nostalgia. However, Just this year I came back to USF and rode the Despicable Me ride that replaced this and... It was harmless fun. The way I see it, there's far worse things in the park (cough Day in The Park with Barney cough) and even in that area of the park (cough Shrek 4D cough). In the words of Immortan Joe from Mad Max Fury Road, Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is "MEDIOCRE!!!"

I have been on a mission since I was 11 to find the music from this ride. I loved the music; the mashup of the different themes was always a joy to listen to, but I've never been able to find the track, or even the composer of the ride.

I would be crying a little right now if I wasn't up at my college. I gave ya a thumbs up. I love Despicable Me, but this ride was a big deal for me growing up. Every time I've been to Universal and Disney in Florida, I have ridden this ride. My last ride on this was two whole years ago.
