He worked in a Chinese restaurant in Little Tokyo. It was named "Chop Suey" which was, arguably, invented in the United States!! His problems landing roles at the start of his career was highlighted in one of his bits. He talked about his father discussing Jimmy's failure to get roles. Jimmy was saying something along the lines of how hard it is to audition and get roles. His father laughed and said "You wanna see how easy it is, I could do it". So his father signs up to audition for the first time in his life and he GOT THE ROLE!!! that was hilarious!!!
